Will there be at least 10 Russians drafted this year at all? Last year there were only nine. It sure looks like there could be more Russians being drafted, seeing that so many this year are playing in NA already.

Grigorenko, Yakupov, Slepyshev, Kamaev, Zharkov, Vasilevski for sure, someone will draft Gusev too finally... Andrey Makarov also should be drafted, Prokhorkin, Osnovin... I'd say there will definitely be more than 9 this year and it could be around 15 or even a bit more. U18 Worlds still ahead. Then again already last year couple more were expected but only 9... But it should be more than 9.

I pretty confident, that Gusev won't be taken. He's in the same position as in previous two seasons, still small, still without a place in KHL just racking up points in the MHL.

And he still has excellent skills.
I absolutely think that he is worth a late-round pick.
Just for the record, I'm all for that, just I don't see it happening.
Why don't you see Tampa spending a 3-4 rounder on him (maybe even a 2nd, cause TBL is packed with 1st and 2nd round picks)? They've got Kucherov and to lure him they may draft his usual linemate.

Where would you rank this guy? He's been training hard with Russia's greatest players.
He'd be my first pick!
You laugh but, ask yourself, how many players or goalies in the world would be willing to stop a guy who might just spike their next drink with a radioactive isotope???

I noticed in the video that the goalies were letting a lot of baby shots go through!
Yeah but this year they saw him in Subway Super Series and WJC. He was the secon best Russian in WJC, after Kuznetsov, and in SSS the leader of the team so I think somebody will take him in round 7, if not earlier. Despite not being able to crack KHL he's also put up a massive amount of points in MHL...

Though this team doesn't have Russian scout they can pick Gusev to reunite teammates who form fantastic duo together... and maybe as a center another Russian pick Prokhorkin who was center forward 11-12 season for both players Kucherov and Gusev.
