I think it's only been 9 days.

I've really start thinking Datsyuk is worth of Hart Trophy, but never wins it.

Hopefully he is himself at the playoffs, rested, injury free from the start till the end, and you see him lifting the Conn Smythe at season end.
Next year do you think he can run the table?

Art Ross, Selke, Hart, Conn Smythe? He definitely has the tools, and with a full 82 game season I could see it for sure. Wings fans know he's the best in the league. Time he gets his due amongst the others.

I thought after last postseason that this season would be his best opportunity to win some regular season hardware. He was just coming off playing some ridiculous hockey and Crosby's season was looking in doubt.

I think the Art Ross is the least likely for him to win, as he always seems to go through a couple of stretches where he kind of sits back and doesn't put his foot forward offensively speaking. The Hart is possible, but he's going to have to finish Top 5 in scoring and not too far behind the leader. I'm guessing he only has a couple more chances for a season like that. Maybe a Parise on his wing could help the cause . Realistically i would never bet on him winning either of those awards. It'll take the type of season where he avoids any injury and everything goes just right. Possible, but not probable.

The Conn Smythe obviously depends completely on the teams' playoff success, but if Detroit were able to win another Cup here soon i'd imagine that Datsyuk would be the engine behind it.

And as far as the Selke goes, there's a good chance he'll win it this season (assuming he comes back within 3 weeks of the surgery). He'll probably be in the running for that award for at least a couple more seasons now with the way he plays.

Serious??? Lol

He will be back hopefully by mid road trip. If he isn't back by then, I'm going to assume our first game back at the Joe. The fact that he is heading on the road trip and hoping to play is a good sign... I would say a little bit more then a week and he is back and that gives him roughly 3 weeks left in the season to really get going.

Should be in Tuesday. I know Nyquist got sent back to GR for a game but is coming up after that. Probably for Bertuzzi still.

It probably is, but even if we're healthy, I'd rather play Nyquist over Emmerton or Mursak. Nothing against the other two, I'm sure they're working hard, but Nyquist is just a better player.

Lol i forgot about this gem:

Kind of similar to the video over the summer where players were asked which players' youtube highlights do they watch with all of them naming Datsyuk. They they ask Datsyuk and he said he doesn't watch any.

It's kind hard to believe he didn't like Fedorov growing up. Have any two Russians dominated both ends of the ice as much as those two?

It's strange to see the two compared like this. Sometimes I feel like Fedorov was the first of the new school of Russian players who rely on individual athletic ability whereas Datsyuk is the last of the soviet school of players who rely on intelligence and vision.

- not to imply that Fedorov had poor team play or that Datsyuk is not athletic; it just seems that their styles of play are so different.
