So Slovan Bratislava will play in the KHL in a couple of months. And HK Poprad too, while LEV moves to Prague, am I reading this right?
Where does that leave
1) the Slovak Extra League?
2) HC Košice?
And if LEV moves to Prague, what effect will it have on Sparta and Slavia Prague?
Neither Slovan, neither HK Poprad and neither LEV in Prague are confirmed.
However if they do move, IMO the Slovak league would still hold competition, Košice will play there.
And when it comes to Sparta and Slavia - nothing changes for Sparta while Slavia would have to share the arena with LEV.
You think they use google translate for the english version?
I don't think it's 100% google translate as then there would be more LOL moments but the text certainly doesn't feel English and was written by someone who probably has a vague understanding of English from watching movies or something and has to translate many words using Google Translate, consequently sometimes getting other meanings of a specific word than the one that should be used in such a text... I've seen soccer terminology used there and some legal terms that would have no place in such simple texts, the author should read NHL.com more.

LEV in Prague still isn't confirmed, because it's not so simple it looks like to be. New owner want to move to Prague, but I doubt HC LEV will play in Czech republic as a member of Slovak Ice Hockey Federation (SZĽH). I guess neither it's not in interest of SZĽH nor in interest of Czech Ice Hockey Federation.
The style of LEV management has been "strange". Communication with players, employees and city of Poprad wasn't good. It won't help them. LEV hasn't built the new Ice rink for training in Poprad and therefore contract between HC LEV and city of Poprad is void.
So at the moment LEV isn't confirmed in Prague, but isn't in Poprad anymore. Mayor of Poprad and HK Poprad made a good chess castling here.
I would be very happy, if HK ŠKP Poprad will join the KHL. However HK Poprad need strong financial partner. It should be a company that make business in tourism in Slovakia or business in Russia. There are some (till now doubtful) rumours that strong financial corporation J&T is involved in that...
I think Slovan Bratislava will join the KHL. I guess it shouldn't be problem for them to find another 8 million Euros.
HC LEV officialy apllied czech federation to become member of czech federation and to play KHL next season. Federation has meeting today, MAYBE decision will be made.
good for them, I hope they will be more competitive and better attended (in numbers), than Lev.
LEV had good attendance in % of capacity. They just used small arena (4500) but had sold out many games and others above 4300 or so. Slovan has arena for cca 10 000 seats, last WC was played here

I know, that's why I said in numbers, knowing that % - wise Lev did good.
Probably, but they should have seen this coming. It was a stop gap solution from day one. Let's face it, KHL governors doesn't give two ***** about a Poprad.
You can look at it also from the other side: Has the city of Poprad gained anything from this? Probably yes. Maybe tourism, maybe business. It will depend on the relations that have been established during this KHL season. Time will tell. Certainly the hockeyfans probably feel disappointed.
They changed their opinion to complete opposite during just one season. What changed so dramatically there?
who knows?
Boss of czech federation said that reason is:
1.federation negotiated with CKD as owner of HC LEV. CKD became new partner of czech federation
2.federation negotiated with Medvedev. KHL should pay for players (without contract) who will sign with LEV and played last season for czech club. Something like NHL club pays european clubs for drafted guys.
3.Would be bad decision to avoid globalisation of euro hockey (KHL, ET)
4.Last year APK (associaciton of czech clubs) governed czech extraleague and made decision about LEV not joining KHL (federation just agreed one year ago). APK cancelled agreement with federation last december and will NOT govern czech extraleague anymore. So APK did not have nay influence to todays decision. Simply said, it is fight federation vs clubs.
HC Lev owes about 1 million Euros to companies and people from the region. Mayor of Poprad said he hopes KHL doesn't allow to HC Lev to play in the league until the club pays its debts...
Mayor of city and HK Poprad do everything to hold KHL in Poprad.
Acc to this HC LEV negotiates with two companies about selling club (or at least any shares). One of them should be owned by Gazprom, second one is not described in article.GAZPROM Germania GmbH ownes 50,14% shares of VEMEX

I don't think that makes much sense. Why would current owner run the club during it's first season as he did and then bother with relocating if he planned to sell it now? If true, I certainly didn't see that coming.
