G
Ennis playing out of his mind. that 1st goal brought back memories of briere dangling and making fools out of people.
Myers with the GWG
Staff/Foligno
Roy
Gerbil/Leino
Sulzer was quietly effective again

B
Weber
GTG. Yuck.

U
Nothing

2 more points, only 2 out again. GO ISLANDERS (for tomorrow)

Sulzer- Another solid game at D
VRP had some good chances

B- Roy laying on ice for 10 seconds on that goal that led to OT
Ruffs line changes/line arrangements

U-Nothing we got 2 points and we needed them, going to game on Wednesday, cannot wait!
All five players screwed that up. Regehr in the left corner. Sulzer to Miller's left (leaving both defenders on the same side. Roy prone. Pominville covering absolutely nobody. Foligno on the ice at all in that situation.
___________

G:

-Ennis. Best game of the season from him.
-Stafford. Physical and engaged. Two assists. Took it to the net.
-Miller. 14-3-3 in his last 20 starts.
-Ehrhoff
-Myers, other than the hit on Gomez.
-Gerbe and Kaleta.
-Roy
-Foligno

B:

-Leino's giveaway.
-Hodgson
-Weber. I don't think there's a worse player in the NHL with the puck on his stick in his own zone.
-End of regulation

U:

-Nothing. Two points.

True but Roy laying there was to funny. What is our record when Tyler Ennis is in the lineup?

I believe his point was the Caps could do worse. In that case we wouldn't have to go 9-3. We just need 3 more points than them to make the playoffs. How that will work out is anyone's guess

I love watching this team when they play like this. Someone should let them know next year that hockey starts in October and actually continues all the way into the spring.

Loved Foligno in this one as well, though I'll admit I didn't watch the entire game as closely as I would have liked. Sulzer looked strong and steady again.

The Bad -

- That GTG. Good Christ that was painful.
- CoHo down to the 4th line and just over 11 minutes ToI. He had some solid shifts, but they need to find a way to get this kid working with some scoring talent.

The Ugly -

- Hey Don, you suck. You sucked in the OHL -- I should've just thrown those glasses at you instead of just asking if you needed them more than me. And you sucked in the AHL. You still suck, VanMassivehoser. You and your enormous ego hardly fit into one uniform.
1st bolded..... noticed the same thing. Very disappointing. He's gone from 3rd line in Vancity to 4th line in Buff.

2nd bolded.....agree worst ref in the league. Ennis was tackled in front of him and shrugged it off.

Time change is killing me...... tuned in as Ennis scored his 2nd. He was obviously flying tonight....

3rd period synopsis only

G: Ennis
Ehrhoff
Foligno
Myers
Nice HD picture tonight
Gerbe - working hard every shift

B: Lines on the final shifts in regulation - Ruff
Roy = our new face off specialist in tight situations
Foligno on the ice in a critical situation
Vanek - the man is ultra frustrated
Hodgeson demotion to 4th line

U: giving up a goal with 3.2 seconds left
having to watch Sabres and Avs fight it out next game... it will be ugly at home......

Hey, someone needs to start the official we miss Goose thread. Hope there's a better face off solution out there in late game defensive situations than Derek Roy.

20-10-5. If you take out the two games in which he got hurt early in the 1st period, that's 20-8-5.

Gragnani's problem was actually defending people. He could make a breakout pass, though. Weber is terribad with the puck on his stick in his own zone. He ices the puck a lot. He turns over the puck a lot. He seems to have decent stick skills in the offensive zone, but he struggles in his own zone. I have to wonder if he panics a bit.

Odds aren't good, but might as well enjoy the ride. And then be pissed off again when we miss by two points and end up with a crappy draft position.

I think going .750 will get them in, because I don't think Washington/Winnipeg/TB will catch them at that point. It's a good aim to have.

The key though is Buffalo HAS to beat Washington in their final meeting.

RE: Hodgson situation. I get that he hasn't been very effective lately but expecting him to play a grinder's game on the 4th line is just dumb. sometimes i don't get how ruff thinks and also how the **** grags continued to get playing time AND 1st PP unit time despite sucking the most out of any rookie/young guy here.

The Great: Lindy just said in his presser that center is gonna be Ennis' home for the foreseeable future Really likes his escapability, creativity, etc. at the position.

How does the too many men on the ice thing work? We can't have possession of the puck if we have too many right? Well we had 5 guys on the ice when Myers scored the goal... LOL

And, while not absolutely necessary, winning in regulation would be pretty huge.

A regulation loss in that game and you can kiss the POs goodbye. A regulation win and this will come down to the final weekend. An OT win and we need help. Every point counts.

And Ruff ruining Hodgson has begun!!

You now have 3 scoring centers. You should now have 3 scoring lines.

I'd like to see Leino-Hodgson-Gerbe. Kaleta just doesn't bring enough offense with Gerbe/Leino. And Leino's improved play I think will translate back to the wing (he looked great on Ennis's wing). Gerbe can play RW without too much problem.

Vanek-Roy-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Leino-Hodgson-Gerbe
Tropp-Boyes-Kaleta

The only reason for not flipping Hodgson and Roy is I just don't think Hodgson is settled in yet on this team. It's been a whirlwind of a month for him. But the difference between here and Vancouver is the top 3 lines get roughly the same amount of ES time.

I thought Hodgson-Ennis-Stafford had so many chances for a few games there just unable to finish...I'd still be willing to give him another chance. Cody asked for a trade to play more then 11 minutes a game. Give him the opportunity to put some goals in the net...
