Allen or Jackman I'd be okay with. Stuart is really overrated, if you look at his microstats and stuff I think he's one of the worst d-men in the league (there was a great post on this a year or two ago). Zanon I don't know much of, a quick scouting report please?

Well, I'd take Stuart as a bottom pairing guy any day, but in the end it all depends on how Emelin develops. If he cannot assume 2nd pair duties just yet, I rather go for a bigger fish than Stuart, that's for sure.

As for Zanon, I must admit I mostly know him based on his reputation. Wild fans are probably the ones you should ask for an in depth analysis of his game. From what I know, he's a reliable positional defenseman with a decent first pass, but not much of a physical presence. The kind of guy you like to have on your 2nd pair, although I could definitely see Emelin stepping his game up next season. He already had stretch where he looked like a legit 2nd pairing this season.

For all of you who dismiss +/-, how'd you like to see this type of performance in 2012-13?
He hasn't been good but he's also the victim of some crazy bad percentages in Montreal. 4.8% team shooting (worse than Gomez last year) and .894 save percentage on even strength.

The thing with crazy bad plus minus stats his that player that have them tend to be about even the next season unless they are Jack Johnson. To have a truly hideous plus minus you need to be a decently good player in a bad situation with terrible luck. If they were legitmately that bad they wouldn't still be getting minutes.

The winger depth situation for next season is pretty disheartening compared to how good it was to start this year. Cammalleri and Kostitsyn will be missed if they aren't replaced on the off season.

Nah, I bet I ain't the only one doing that....never want to see them lose, but also don't want them to waste an opportunity at a high draft pick.

Slap them back next season when they still don't have Seguin.

Are you sugeesting thatWisniewski isn't as intelligent a hockey player as Markov?

The Habs have a number of upcoming second rounders in 2012and 2013 in addition to their own firsts. They could get lucky.

I'm mad that Emelin got benched. You bench players playing poorly or not making an effort. Not a guy that just had terrible luck. Sure it was a bad play. But **** happens. He played well beside that. Well... Compared to most of the team anyway, but thats not saying much because that was pretty bad game.

Also, what the hell is up with people wanting Bryan Allen? The guy is awful. Granted, I havent followed him that closely this year, but I really didn't like what I saw. I'd much rather play Weber and Diaz and if we really are that desperate for muscle, re-sign Staublitz and get another big grinder.

In closing, I'd like to mention I like White on Plek's line. Not as a long term solution, but if you watch carefully, his big checks and intense play often create turnovers or create room for his line mates. I guess what Im trying to sa is that between him and Bourque, Id rather keep him with Plekanec. At least he's trying.

Seriously, what's the point of benching a player at this point of the season.

Benching a player for a bad bounce... That's ****ing stupid.
