If I was told that Shawn Horcoff was the captain of a random team, without a doubt id guarantee that team was one of the worst in the NHL. Our team is as good as our captain, absolutely horrible.

How can a player who sucks, lead by example? Its a joke.
he laerned from ethan moreau before him

If the entire team can get away with lame ass play and omark gets called out for that. Its ridicilous, renney give your head a shake.
You are aware that Omark had more ES TOI than both Gagner and Hemsky right? Also guys like Smyth.

He had the same amount of PP time as Hemsky and Gagner.

He legitimately was given 2nd line TOI this game, I'm not sure how you can even think of complaining.

For his 2nd line minutes, he had 2 giveaways (2nd highest amongst the forwards) 1 takeaway and 1 shot and 1 missed shot. Also 2 PIM(leading to the GWG).

He's ineffective. Nothing else to it. He's not developed enough to play in a top-6 role.

Oh and Ryan Whitney with 6 giveaways, holy crap.

Fairly inept management is being combined with Renney's mismanagement of his players.

Potter a 5/6 guy getting 20+ minutes a night since Gilbert's departure, while Schultz has been among the bottom of defense ice time.

Then you've got Horcoff doing a good job against the Thornton line suddenly being counted on for offense when the goalie gets pulled.

Too many players are being asked to play out of their elements, although I suppose a lack of depth has something to do with that.

Truer words have never been spoken. It wouldn't surprise me if it was between horcoff and one of the kids getting traded that management would trade one of the kids before trading horcoff. Don't know what incriminating evidence he has on Lowe/tambellini

Yes but there is a serious lack of compete out there and that falls on the "leaders" of the team. Renney and co. and Horcoff and co.
Stop giving Renney free passes, he is a big part of the problem.

I honestly don't want him on the team next year, but I know he will be.

Hall, Nuge, Eberle, Petry and Smid are the only reason to watch this team right now.

Wow. Eberle sounding like a real leader after the game, unlike Horcoff.

I don't know how much longer I can take watching Horcoff. It's crap that we have to rely on 20 year olds to carry our team, it's even sadder that we are going to be wasting their ELC's coming last every year, unless of course we pull it together next year. I'll be disgruntled as long as Horcoff is captain let alone on the team.. Also if they fork out too much money for Smyth and don't make a big free agent signing on defense I'm going to really be calling for Lowbellini to step aside....

Draft a Center 2nd or 3rd overall, trade Gagner for a dman, strip Horc of his captaincy(pipe dream I know) sign a free agent defense man and find anyone to take over for Belanger and maybe I'll be happy..... Ugh even after that a Dubnyk/Khabi combo might take us down so we'll need to likely find some sort of replacement.

Ok ranting out of the way, Petry killed it and always will, Potters play is in the potty, Horc is Horc, and Smyth is looking old. Gagner/Omark seem to be too much on the perimeter and make our top 6 too small. For guys like them to be effective they need to be fast, which they don't seem to be. Hopefully they can get replaced with some size next year.

The Oilers are doing a great job of giving the Rexall faithful a lasting impression of them as this season draws to a close. Too bad after the solid first half home record.

It aint mather how much toi you have when you play with Gagner.
Gagner had a whopping one pass to Omark today and about 20 failed passes to Hemsky.

Omark is playing for his NHL life; he should be as hungry as a junkyard dog. I was under the impression he played a puck possession game? You can't blame Gagner for Omark's play.

Renney has nothing to do with the players lack of motivation...sucking year after year does that all by itself. These players have had nothing to play for down the stretch for years now.

Losing begets losing.

BTW...I am not giving Renney a free pass. I am simply suggesting that he deserves to be judged once he has a GM that doesn't keep providing garbage for a hockey team.

He's done absolutely nothing to deserve playing on the 1st line.

And Gagner is the better NHL player, as is Hemsky.

If he's trying to send Tambellini a message by playing Potter excessively then I applaud him but I doubt that's the case. Tom & Corey are BFF's.

Seriously, he should be riding Smid, Petry and Schultz as much as possible. The other guys shouldn't see anywhere near 20 mintues.

Coach is actually sounding pissed off for once.

Edit: He knows he will not be back next season. It is a shame Tambellini will be back, though.

I don't know how to link to a specific Tweet so I just copied it lol:

Dan Tencer ‏ @dantencer

Jordan Eberle talked about the frustration building because of the losing. Too many guys being individuals and not part of a team.
