I haven't seen him in the 3rd either.

And, for those that haven't seen him all game, it's probably because you've been looking for a defenseman, a position he seems to have no interest in actually playing.

Game.

When did Eric start playing for the Rangers? Better yet, when did he learn how to score on a wraparound?

That play gets blamed on no one but Ruutu behind the net. Ridiculous...

This team finally figured it out. No more OT losses. Get it done in regulation.

Sounds like (according to @MSmithCanes) Sanguinetti took a stick to the face in the 2nd, and that's why he didn't return for the rest of the game.

Probably from Muller during the second intermission.

I was really hoping that his defensive shortcomings were overstated, but based on those two periods it's pretty obvious that it's a huge issue. He looked like he was playing an EASHL drop-in game, TBH. No intention of actually playing the position he was lining up at.

Silver lining, he looked right at home on the PP. Hopefully he can get some confidence there, enough to get him to improve his defensive/neutral zone play.

Agreed. I see after the game Muller was already saying that Muller wouldn't judge Sanguinetti based on one game, but you can kinda see where he was headed with that...

And it's true, isn't it? We're so loaded with primo AHL talent, but these guys aren't ready for prime time.

I don't know if you guys know this but Sangs was taken as the pick before Girioux. Supposedly the Flyers wanted Sangs and settled on Girioux. We showed them.

Joslin's tweet makes me believe the stick Sangs took to the face wasn't exactly legal:

Another hard fought game by the canes. Congrats to @Sangs2224 on his first game back in the NHL and in his hometown. #crosscheck #veteran

You know what's funny? Last year, Ward was 1st in the league in Shots Against, almost 2400 of them. The talk this offseason was blocking shots, helping Cam out, all about the team knowing that Ward faced far too many shots last year.

Fast forward to this year, Ward's 2nd in the league in shots faced. Glad to see the team took that message to heart.

Ruutu turns it over behind his own net, Gleason plays the pass leaving Hagelin open to walk in. I don't see how you can blame Ward, he was playing like Hagelin was going to pass to Richards, but unfortunately so was Gleason. Ward even tried to spread out to deny the lower half of the net but was too late.

Gleason. Complete waste of a contract! Sean Hill part II.

Richards made Cam look stupid on that 2nd goal.....absolutely embarrassed him. He had Cam flopping around like the fish in the "Faith No More" video...while he was waiting to shoot!

I have officially reached that time of spring, well into a pointless season where I no longer care about watching the Canes. I'll get interested again on draft day.

And Clarke went to the podium and forgot his name. Totally awesome.
