Getting to the point where he should be a play or trade. Not this year obviously but next.
Expressing that on a public website is not a smart move. At all. You think Burke will like this. I'm willing to bet our management will be pretty unhappy about Kadri saying stuff like this on Twitter.

Childish move by Kadri.
Well what can he do?
Kadri would play better than 3/4 of our current forwards and yet he doesn't get a chance
I'd take Gilmour, Clark, Sundin, Roberts over Phaneuf or Kessel anyday. These 2 guys we have are not franchise players, they are not difference makers. Obcourse I will hear Kessel is 5th in the NHL in scoring, he's a great talent, all sunshine and roses in leafsland, we are 2 players/tweaks away from making the playoffs, what a wonderful core we have. It's moving in the right direction. The usual rhetoric.
But in reality if tweaks are what we have in store for next year with this same nucleus we will be in trouble again next year. Need significant changes to move fwd. Trading Grabo's 5.5M contract before July 1 for one, and clearing the deck. Absolutely no confidence in this group, and if anyone here says they have confidence in this group next year, I don't know what the definition of denial is.
I think Kessel is really struggling playing without Lupul. You can see how his play went up even last season when Lupul arrived, and they've both been feeding off one another big time this year. I think alone, neither is as good as they've shown for most of this season, probably more like 50-65 point players, at least at this point in time. Granted, everyone's better when they're playing with better players, and Connolly is no substitute for Lupul, that's for sure.
As for Grabo, no way in hell I trade one of our best players just because his cap hit is a bit high. He gives us defensive responsibility, skill at center, and he makes things happen all the time, even when they don't translate to goals. We're not going to get better by shipping out the only things that are working for us.
Also, wow at the Kadri tweet. I mean come on, show some professionalism.

Well what's the worst that can happen to him? Get traded. I am sure he'd be delighted.
kadri further not helping his case in my belief that hes got a piss poor personality
still not sold on him and i hope we trade him, the people praising him are going to be in a dissapointment..... i am happily willing to eat crow if wrong.... this comming from a ranger fan with alot of knowledge about hsi game
Oh no! Kadri agree's that he can do a better job on this team right now? How asinine! But he wouldn't be a better option than Lombardi or Crabb. Because that would be ridiculous.
omg what the **** does burke have to do with a team losing something like 15 of their last 20 games 3/4s of the way through the season? im not kidding, just look at a pre and current burke roster. just remember how it used to be... with fletch, and jfj, and berg and toskola, i can go on...
WTF does Burke have to do with this ?
Are you freakin nuts , who the **** do you think put this roster together ?
The one consolation I take from this is that for the first time in a few years we might have nothing to hang our hat on going into the offseason.
A few years ago it was doing great at the end cause Gus went on a hot streak. The next year Phaneuf/Giguere improved us in the last part of the season. After that it was Reimer for the last 20 games. Basically every year we've gotten good performances near the end of the year from some move that was made only to find that the following year it was a complete mirage.
Now I'm not giving up on Reimer yet, but he is not a starter right now, not even close. And this team is certainly not gonna do it in it's current state. Things need to change. A lot of things. For the last few years we haven't really been able to say that without being unsure because of what we did in the last 15-20 games of those years. But this time, no protection IMO.
I've actually supported being patient with Burke because there's still a lot of things I've liked from him in other areas despite the actual team's lack of success, but if he doesn't make some major moves this offseason I'm really going to wonder whether he's the guy going forward. I do however think he will, even he's admitted how perplexed he is with the team's struggles and I'm sure he can't be too happy that their play forced him to fire his friend.
Kadri,in my personal opinion, has some serious character issues. I'm not surprised that Burke doesn't like it. He feels way too entitled. Welcome to the real world.
I'm likely to get flamed hard for this, but there are lot of similarities in situation to Rob Schremp. Offensive minded center who makes the transition to the wing, and puts up big numbers in the OHL/AHL, but can't crack the roster because management sees too many deficiencies in his game. Character issues brought up by media and fans. Divisive opinions through the fanbase.
He's got a physical edge over Schremp though, which could be the difference. Time will tell, but can't help but notice these things

Wanting to play for the NHL team is now a piss poor personality disorder?
This is no different than if any other rookie says they want to be with the big club, he just chose to do it outside of standard mediums like interviews.
