Just glad we didn't draft this guy:

Fowler has 24 points in 70 games, which is a big step down from his 40-point rookie campaign. It's concerning that Fowler actually did more offensively with the Ducks were struggling in the first half of the season.

Fans were up in arms that we passed on this kid but he has been awful this year. I know he could pull a Del Zotto but, I for one, are still enamored with the McIlrath pick.

Bickel has been one of the biggest surprises this year....he basically came in and replaced Sauer, which is amazing considering how important Sauer was to this team.

Not saying Stu is as good as Sauer but this was a ECHL/AHL player prior to his 18 minutes he is getting now.

Remarkable. Stralman comes out before Stu does.

The argument should not be Erixon vs Bickel. It should be Erixon vs Stralman/Eminger.

Erixon is not "soft". He plays the same style as Lidstrom, Yandle, Boumeester, etc.

He is a smooth-skating, puck-mover who has a SUPER HIGH hockey IQ. The fact that people are down on him because at 20 he was not able to handle the rigors of the NHL yet on the 1st place team in the East is beyond me. Offensively, he is second to none in the entire organization.

Not totally directed at you Bleed Blue. Just ranting.

holy crap Erixon is doing great in CT. Let the kid develop properly and not crap on him. I can't believe Bickel is doing so well but he seems to have earned himself a one way deal next yr.........Another steal of a deal for Sather.

Was at the game last night. Bickel is doing nothing to embarass himself. Spent time in 3rd on PK, made all the quick outlet passes out of the zone, played a nice game in front of Biron.

Thursday will be a big test. If the playoffs were to start today, then he has leapt over both Eminger and Stralman and has played himself into a starting role.

As for Erixon, the kid just needs to develop more. NO need to rush him.

Anyone else notice Richards jump to bickels defence after the hooking penalty last night. I thought that was awesome. Richards saw the Canes player lean forward to jerk the stick from Stu's hand. Good stuff.

I like bickel, think he would be a great asset to have as a 12th/13th forward and or a 6th/7th defenceman.

I think that hurt his confidence earlier this year. They probably want him to stay in N.A. to strengthen up this off season. Or he could be part of a trade in the off season. If Bickell can improve his agility over the summer, then you might have something there.

Bickel played alot of minutes against the Canes and for me was ok...he made some good outlet passes when not pressured but he did turnover his share of passes last night. Still, im very surprise at his progress and he should improve with more playing minutes. Eminger/stralman no thanks
