There is a steep learning curve, but online videos help a ton...as do photoshop books. The biggest thng is getting used to the layers and learning the tools. Think of photoshop layers as an addative approach and then use the transparency and erasure tool as the subtractive component.

If you need some help, just ask.

Voted Star Wars because I'm lazy and already have one. Looks like Pulp Fiction is gonna win, unless we want to have a top 2 vote, or top 3 vote.

I think we can at least have a discussion about the top few choices. It looks like a runaway winner, but there's room to make the theme more flexible so everyone can use their ideas (I think).

I'm hoping we can have something like a unified image (Trap Fiction) flashed with the person's choice of avatar within the theme. And seems like movies outside Pulp Fiction are doable for those who are keen on something particular.

Anyway, the poll has a couple days left, and folks away on the weekends haven't seen it yet.

I think Jaro took some inspiration last night. What a great performance.

Are these playoff push avatars or the ones we're going to use for the playoffs?

I like the Godfather theme, since it's easy finding pictures of players in suits, but maybe something a little more current? Anyone a fan of Boardwalk Empire?

Playoffs. Pretty sure the push is over, just waiting to see where we match up.

Oh. Well playoffs are still a ways off, lots of time still to consider ideas.

I think after clinching, it would be fun to introduce them a bit early. Not every team has that luxury, so might as well enjoy it.

Alright, "Trap Fiction" won roughly 1/2 the votes, plus more if you count Option 2 (additional movies to pull from).

The Blues have officially clinched the playoffs, so (assuming someone with the appropriate skills is willing to do the leg-work) I think we can unveil these any time now.

I'm picturing a common panel:
Trap Fiction (maybe the one with Hitch smoking as Uma Thurman) flashing toward a 2nd panel that is unique to each avatar. (Maybe a 3rd panel with the Bluenote or something)?

I see no harm in using images/themes outside Pulp Fiction for the 2nd panel, but it would be cool if people would use the unifying 1st panel. I think this way the 1/2 posters who DIDN'T vote for Trap Fiction might be more interested in participating.

I realize its all self-motivated participation, but it would be cool for us to show some solidarity as fans on this one. Plus, I love the message we can send to the league fans with these.

Any other thoughts? Volunteers?

OFFICIAL REQUEST
If we run with this, I want:

Panel 1: Uma/Hitch "Trap Fiction"

Panel 2: "Do you see a sign in front of my house that says "Neutral Zone Trap"? (words)

Panel 3: Below photo with Halak's head over Tarantino's

so many ideas to choose from. I'll track down some pictures and post the quotes relating to them tomorrow after work and we can put our own spin on them.

I would still be willing to do the graphics if needed.

IMO, I like the "Say trap again, I dare you" as a panel.

One of the panels should probably be the Playoffs 2012 logo.

Here's one for somebody to use. From just before the dance scene with Vincent and Mia. Just replace dance with trap.

Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good.
