We need to draft Galchenyuk, then get rid of these worthless contracts Connolly, Lombardi, Army and Komi. Bring in the kids, they'd be cheaper and couldn't do any worse.

You'd run the risk of ruining a top prospect's career because they couldn't do worse than an established veteran? Thats not the kind of logic that is going to help this team.

cheaper for what? are people allergic to Burke using up the entire cap?
Correlation does not equal causation. The Leafs didn't play that much better in those 19 games because of Kadri's six points and his Armstrong-like intangibles. Seven of those wins came in January. In those wins, the Leafs gave up an average of 1.4 goals against. I don't think Kardri's 13 minutes of Selke play caused that.
tldr: coincidences happen
Funny you bring up Armstrong, since Burke brought up the same argument concerning his presence in the line up, the past off-season.
I think our third line was much more dynamic and created much more offensive pressure with Kadri in the line up.
Once he was removed, and the third line was reduced to nothing but a defensive liability without any hope for offensive contribution, our 2-13-2 record was borne.

If I've learned one thing in my tenure as a Leaf fan, it's that it can ALWAYS get worse

That was the joke.

This much is true.

You're just restating the correlation. Do you think the slide came as a result of losing a player getting 13 minutes of ice-time scoring less than .33 points per game who at best is marginal on the back-check?
What better? Missing the playoffs but playing out of your mind for the last 3rd of the season and really losing one or two games that really put you out? Or this Season, when you absolutely stink the joint out. The booby prize may be a top 5 pick, but watching this team gives me less hope than last season.
The thing that kills me is it's primarily the same team. Besides the #*%%#y goaltending, what is different?
Has the board finally realized Reimer wont find his game this season or ever again. Go quote that he may never turn out to be a solid starter. That lil stretch aka short sample he had last year didnt prove anything and he could not repeat it. He is the sole reason for us missing the playoffs.

Teams obviously figured him out not to mention that last season he really had no pressure while this season came with heightened expectations.
11goals in the last 14 games, i thought you guys said schenn was better???
He absolutely is a stud this year. The way he's playing this year, he was a better pick than Drew Doughty. It was not out of the realm of possibility to think Schenn was the better player. I guess we'll have to see over their careers who turns out to be the better player.
