Yeah, but Gaborik should definitely be in the discussion as well.

DZ is only most improved because he was just so damn awful last year.

If this is going by a year by year basis?

Last season was Gaborik's worst season in his entire career. He's simply back to form.

I agree with MDZ.

He is also insanely better defensively, as well as offensively, than he was during his rookie campaign.

I know, but if you say it shouldn't be a year to year basis, then MDZ hasn't played long enough for it since it was only his second season.

Del Zotto.

He was terrible last season and many wanted him gone. He's turned completely around into a top defenseman on this team.

MDZ by far. He's been much better than in his rookie season and LEAPS bounder than last year.

1.) MDZ
2.) Girardi
3.) Gaborik

Gaborik is tremendously improved but we all know that last year wasn't the real Gaborik. This is a normal (healthy) year for Gaborik in actuality.

MDZ is the obvious answer, think it be harder to decide who has taken the biggest step back....

What about Ryan Mc he has exceeded my expectation especially in the absent of Marc staal he has really shown up and delivered and has even shown that he can bring some offence to the table too

Definitely Del Zotto. There were people calling for his head last year but he has upped his game tremendously since then.

It's MDZ, with Gaborik and McDonagh trailing.

couldnt agree more...but for the season i think Boyle. Torts knows his offense will come in the playoffs, why else would he be on the powerplay?? he is too weak to stand in front of the net much rather have Rupp or Fedotenko on the powerplay than Boyle.

but seriously i think McDonagh...his offense really improved this year and was never expected to be an offensive dman..went from 9pts to 26 pts isnt that bad for a young player..
