How much would Radulov have to pay, or lose, to come over right now without waiting for Ufa.

wtf is going on? Ufa has confirmation that Kuznetsov is staying in the KHL and they are hard in on him so why are they being *****es about this?

Eff this. I'm going to mow my yard. I expect some news in an hour and a half when I'm back or I might have to fly to Russia myself and kidnap Rads.

The KHL did not apply the agreement to Rads when he went over, so why does the NHL have to apply it to him now?

Additionally, while I certainly don't know the text of the agreement, it's been characterized as an agreement to "honor each others contracts." Since he's already under NHL contract, I'm not sure how the agreement could prevent him from utilizing it. Signing a new one until his KHL one expires, sure - but not the current one.

It doesn't appear the money is the issue now. It's his rights. Ufa is being stubborn and trying to prove some point and won't give it up.

w/r/t the transfer agreement and the validity of Radulov's contract

The contract is not valid in the eyes of the NHL, BUT since the KHL refused to make the transfer agreement retroactive so that Radulov's signing became a violation I would assume that his contract IS valid in terms of the agreement, just not in the eyes of the NHL.

What a backwards ass league the KHL is. The league itself released Radulov to return to the NHL, but the club can hold that up? Who writes contract law in Russia? Children? Do they just make it up as they go?

I figured there'd be some sort of poison pill in the and a fear of the old 'Russian Scorched Earth Policy' if Rad wanted to play in the Olympics for Mother Russia IN RUSSIA... So basically it looks to me like Salavat Ufa wants to give him the choice of staying or playing a full year on his ELC. If Poile would grant an extension that kicked in after the ELC... that could backfire on them. Either way the guy gets paid...

Ufa trying to screw us for the second time. The first time they screwed us Radulov was hand-in-hand. Now, they are screwing both Nashville AND Radulov.

You know what? **** Russia. Backwards ass country...

I do agree though that Medvedev said if Radulov wants to leave the KHL "won't be the iron curtain." Par for the course as far as Preds and 47 goes though.

I guess the comforting thing is that Dmitry Chesnokov tweeted Radulov is ready to return to Nashville.

How can a team overrule a mandate by an entire league? Why can't the league step in and say "knock it off you boobs!"

Yep. Unfortunate the team is screwing him around now.

Definitely a good sign. Hopefully that means he's also ready to sign a deal in Nashville long-term, and you guys have the top line sniper you've been wanting/needing since he left.

Yes, it appears that the usual rad watch sucked us all in this year to a much greater degree.

I can't believe some of you guys let yourselves become so worked up over this.

I've said it probably 100 times now- unless you see him skating at a Preds practice, don't buy it.

Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us 146 times - shame on us.

I would assume if they are withholding his pay, that he will stay until the fall. I can't imagine him doing anything else.

Sounds to me like he is being held against his will. Send in Tootoo and Kraken to break some . Beyond that, I can't believe the KHL is willing to risk another cold war with the NHL over this.

Dmitry Chesnokov ‏ @dchesnokov
Bottom line: Radulov wants to play in the NHL right now. His KHL club is OK with that but want to keep his rights. Details on PD soon.

There is a huge difference between this time around and the others. Radulov is actually ready to come back.

I know he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt, but by all accounts at the moment all things are pointing to Ufa being the culprit here, not Radulov. Unless more comes out, he has still only fooled us once.

It would be nice if the KHL would pull an NHL/NHLPA and just skirt the rules to allow Ufa to retain his rights while he plays in the NHL. It seems to me that holding him against his will can only burn bridges at this point.

But then again, maybe the Russians are still scared to death of appearing weak at all.

So, it looks like the KHL can step in and modify this. Maybe something that makes everyone happy like Ufa has his rights IF he decides to return to Russia.

I don't remember Rad ever saying in the last month that he wants to come back. All I remember is a bunch of agents and writers tweeting that, or articles with no quotes by Rad himself.
Maybe I just don't remember it.

That is what we have:

Rads expressed through his Agent that he wants to play for Nashville right now

Ufa is ok with Rads leaving them

Ufa wants to keep his rights, as a security in case he comes back to KHL so it is withy hem, not an opponent.

Dead end.

How can the contract be valid wrt the transfer agreement between the NHL and KHL, but considered invalid by the NHL at the same time??

According to Dmitry Chesnokov, the KHL can step in. We'll see
