A quick look at the standings this morning:

TEAM -- GP -- PTS

Toronto -- 70 -- 68
Minnesota -- 70 -- 68
Carolina -- 70 -- 67
Islanders -- 70 -- 67
Montreal -- 71 -- 67
Edmonton -- 70 -- 61
Columbus -- 70 -- 51

Given how the Wild are playing now, the 3rd overall pick looks a pretty good possibility.

Voted for Trouba. I want to pick a defenseman. We don't need more offensive prospects, but if we were to pick one instead, I'd go for Galchenyuk.

I think if we have the opportunity to pick up am elite true-scorer we really should. Even with the offensive prospects we have coming up, we still need good finishers.

That said, if the best player available is an elite defenseman, by all means take him.

Another option would be to draft one of those elite forwards then trade a player like Coyle, Phillips or Zucker for a high end defensive prospect.
