I just don't see Staal's wingers as being a big factor. He started off this year with Skinner and Ruutu as his wingers (I believe), and had like 5 points in 15 games. He goes "beast mode", puts up a ridiculous point streak when Tlusty and Stewart/Bowman/etc are his wingers. And Tlusty was producing offense as well, allowing Staal those "leecher" points.
Now obviously, having a top line winger would be great for the team, simply to have another high-production player, but I don't see Staal's point totals changing that much. If he does his typical "3 months off, 3 months beast mode", he'll produce around 70-80 points regardless of whether he's got LaRose or Parise on his wing all year.
My view is it's a little bit of both. If the talent remains the same, Staal will continue to be a 70-80 point player. Add some more REAL top line talent around him and he could be an 80-90 point player (or if he could figure out a way to be more consistent throughout the year). If he had more talent AND figured out a way to be more consistent throughout the season, he could be in the 90+ point range.
There are a grand total of 2 tickets available (both pricey single club level seats) for Thursday's PNC Arena debut on Ticketmaster currently. Have we had a sellout this year?
Sellout does not equate to a full house. Never has....in any arena. Most the the Canes sellouts this season has rows and tows of vacant eats that the scalpers/resellers couldn't unload.

Ah you are missing a key fact--there are only two dates left for season tix holders to trade in unused tickets--the 1st being the 15th and the next is the 21st. Because so many wait until the end of the year to trade in, hence, what looks to be a sell out in would normally just be a regularly attended game.
No but when you are writing a newspaper article you should at least spellcheck. If that was twitter I wouldn't have cared
He's committed a flagrant journalistic whiff. Clearly, he's a bottom 6 hockey reporter and should be relegated to minimal column inches in order to give other, more-deserving writers a chance to dazzle us with their sicknasty spelling skillsets.
Good afternoon Canes fans. Wild fan here coming in peace. I'm doing tomorrows Wild board GDT and I was wondering if any one of you could provide me with a probable lineup for tomorrow afternoon?
I heard Koivu's back in the lineup for tomorrow's game. Any more info on that?
Our backup beat writer thinks there is a good chance he plays tomorrow since he has been going hard in practice and without the no-contact jersey. He also thinks Cullen plays tomorrow despite the fact that he took a knee hard in our game tuesday.

But he has a nice smile, and the other reporters love when he is on their row in the press box.
