I was never a fan of Seguin. I preferred Hall, but Seguin definitely has changed my mind. He has been extremely good this season.

It really depends on what you like, a sniper in Hall, or smart playmaker in Seguin.

Forbert will be a good shutdown defenseman, but his offensive game has really sucked in the toilet. I wanted him due to his two-way ability, but am glad he was picked before us. Etem like Rattie has to show me solid results in the AHL or training camp before I jump on their wagon. Still too much uncertainty involving him.

We don't have, hardly any dangerous guys. They're dangerous as groups, but we don't have any real singular threats.

It's fine as it is though.
Not even singular threats, shooters in general imo. Hopefully Dutchy turns into that dangerous player though.

I was a big Avs fan when I was yonger, I became one when Sakic was going to be a Ranger or my brother thought he was going to be, and when he didn't I instantly became a fan of the Avs. I remember watching the 2001 Stanley Cup by myself as me and my brother were the only two real hockey fans in my house. I was 12 at the time After the strike I stopped watching Hockey but last year I started to get back into it. Last year was a bad time to start as Avs played terrible but I stuck with them, I remember watching the Draft and us picking Landeskog and man watching this guy is awesome! I hope to be back at the NHL awards this year, I went last year, (i live in LV) and man I hope he Calder, as he deserves it. I am excited about our future! GO AVS!

Welcome to the boards. Good to see some new fans rolling into town. I hope they don't take the first train out if we don't squeak in this year though.

Good to see ya!

You get a standing ovation when you join, but when I join all I got was a HF fine and Bubba Thudd got to hit me with a stick.

Welcome to the Avs board tho, we need more intelligent fans around here, as you can see I am not one of the intelligent ones.

Since Jan. 21, in 24 games, Landeskog has put up 11 goals and 13 assists.

Oilers fan: Come talk to me when he's at .86 PPG.

Kid has been basically at that for probably as many games now as RNH has been healthy this year.

Edit: Went as far back as 40 games (RNH has played 50) Lando is .825 PPG in those 40)

He spent +30 games with Winnik, not even Gretzky could make Winnik put up points.

I always take the smart playmaker. They are my favorite breed. Only cause I play like they do. Reason why I love Stastny so much too.

Either way Seguin is going to be a stud down the road.

I agree that I am happy now that we didn't get Forbert however Etem still isn't a bad pick. I wanted Burmistrov and Skinner a lot too, but sadly both went in top 10 to some surprise. (Mostly cause Skinner was projected top 15 rage, and Burmistrov was the 2nd best Russian forward).

Look at what this guy posted in the "Landeskog appears to be front runner for Calder" thread on NHL Talk.

Highly overrated offensively and defensively but he'll be a solid Cal Cutterbuck type player in his prime.

Oilers fans are misguided though if they believe Hall will have a bigger physical impact than Landeskog. Hall will beat guys with his strength and skill and won't always be going out and hitting guys. Landeskog only has his strength. Landeskog will be throwing his weight around at 110% effort every shift or he'll be in the AHL.

Enjoy your latest version of Svatos/Wolski/Pascal Trepanier while he still looks like a solid young player.

Nah he is simply trolling. He is the guy that needs to disagree about something others tend to agree on just to spark a reaction.

It's nice to know somebody else got a fine when they first joined.

Long time Hawks fan here.

Landeskog is a beast, reminds me of Toews.

You've got a good one, and likely a great one.

Hopkins is very good, but he'll never have the toughness that Landeskog has.

Landeskog is to Hopkins as Toews is to Kane. All great players, but who do you want leading you into playoff battle.

What's the record for a rookie? Didn't Svatos almost get it?

I thought it was like 8 or something.

I was actually super excited for the draft as I thought Skinner would drop to the Avs. He was the guy I really wanted from that draft.

This blew my mind.

Landeskog had 11 reps in the 150lb bench press at the Combine. The best in his year had 13.

Ryan O'Reilly had 18 at the Combine.
