You would pull your veteran leader, on a 34 save shutout, for the skills competition?

You would lose the team, the locker room, the respect, etc. Period.

This isn't a video game.

Yeah Giguere clearly stole us a point.

O'Brien was terrible in the 1st, but he really calmed his game down and was pretty good for the rest of it. I think our 4th line was the best and Hejda did a GREAT job of shutting Kovalchuk down. I had a heartattack whenever he had the puck.

After sitting in a cold rink for 60 minutes, a few minutes isn't enough to get warmed up for all the stretching the body has to do. Not worth the injury risk.

I fully agree. Have Varly warm up during OT and then put him in net during SO. This lost point might cost us a playoff spot.

You won't be when those other teams continue to win because we get no help.

Giggy got us the point.
Agreed.

Giguere played well in regulation and got us the point.

Varlamov, while better in the shootout, would be a bad idea. With him being cold going into the shootout, and how athletic he is, he could risk pulling his groin.

SO + Giggy = loss, but he played great to get it that far. It wouldnt have mattered, but I still think passong on Duke as the first shooter should be considered. Yes, he has been a stud for many years and one of the Avs best SO specialists. However, you have to go with who gives you the best chance to win. Our beloved captain hasn't been looking himself for the majority of this season. I sure hope he gets his mojo back, but right now he's like an old horse.

Duke gives us the best chance to win when he shoots first.

Instead we might lose out on a playoff spot by a point lost tonight. Everyone knows how good Varly is in shootouts that includes Jiggy.

Yeah. At this point I just want that game to end in regulation.

Regulation, yes. But Shootouts he's been money. Almost every shot has been in or the post, he gives the best chance to score in a shootout.

Giguere won 1 point for us. We already knew that he sucks at SO.

It's a nice result, I was expecting a loss tonight after a hard game yesterday

No. If anything, our piss poor record against Calgary (especially when they were struggling) might cost us a playoff spot.

If we miss the playoffs by a point, it will not be because of a point lost in the skills competition of a 0-0 game.

There are many other games that can be pointed to if we miss by a point.

Stretching isn't warming up. Poor idea.

Hejda was great on Kovalchuk off the rush tonight.

Giggy was awesome for 65 minutes.

Getting tired of seeing us getting rented in our own zone with the cycle and a plethora of poor passing i am amazed this didn't end in regulation.

your thoughts

Our NW record will be the reason we won't make it but would suck so bad by losing out by one point. I'm sorry I hate losing and tend to overreact.

Like that Canucks game where Gali didn't score the empty netter.

I don't see Edmonton beating Calgary, especially with how Calgary is playing as of late.
