One thing I will say, what the **** is up with Dubinsky this season?
He looks like he has lost all confidence offensively. His two biggest weaknesses are consistency and mental strength and they reared their ugly heads in force this year.
Very ugly. Zucc's needs some more ice time. Dubinsky/Ani/Step need to wake up. These are the guys that need to give us secondary scoring and they're not doing anything.
-Very different game if that trip on Gabby is called imo.
-Mitchell couldn't score in a brothel.
-Bickel was complete garbage tonight. So was McD
-Biron played well. The first 3 goals, he was left out to dry.
-The Holy Trinity line is amazing, but it leaves the other lines void of anything at all.
-Dubinsky has been regulated to a single, ineffective move.
-Stepan needs something, anything.
-Everyone talking about Crosby and Matt ****ing Cooke scores twice.
- Get Dubinsky off this team
- Get Mitchell off this team
- Get Bickel off this team
- 3 really good scoring lines and a checking/grinding line. I would be SO HAPPY if our team looks like this next year.
I really hope your right but as it relates to Parise, I really believe he'll either be back with the Devils or end up with the Wings or Wild. This team has to make a move for more offense in the offseason; cannot win with smoke and mirrors anymore.
Everyone else is at best average. We didn't have 4 of those players today, which would excuse this loss if Pittsburgh wasn't completely decimated by injuries all season and still winning.
Pittsburgh has the depth to still play well when they have certain guys out. And when they had alot of guys out, they were struggling....they were like 21-17-3 or something at one point when they had numerous guys out.
We just do not have the depth to have even one key player miss games.
I'm just confused how a standard body check, a bump into a goal post and a wrist shot have sidelined three of our better players for as long as theyve been out.
Brian Leetch played the entire 1994 postseason with one shoulder.
I think Zucc and Dubinsky should get some more icetime together and preferably without Mitchell as center. They got two or three shifts together at the end of the game today and was able to create more than every other line exept the Richards line had been doing all game. I think they looked good in the few games they had together last year aswell when Cally and Gaborik was out.
The second goal was Boyle's fault and the last one was a horrendous rebound. Wake up!
You clearly were not watching the game, maybe you were too busy drooling over Crosby but McDonagh has a chance to clear the puck and he didn't, Neal took it away and Malkin scored.
The 5th goal was a rebound but if McDonagh had his stick on Dupuis stick he never scores.
I have a huge problem with everyones game tonight outside of Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik. Biron didn't have much help but his third period was awful. McDonagh was terrible. Eminger and Bickel were terrible. Stepan didn't do much. Dubinsky continues to be useless.
He looks like he has lost all confidence offensively. His two biggest weaknesses are consistency and mental strength and they reared their ugly heads in force this year.
I really believe we need to cut our loses and move him in the offseason before he becomes completely worthless.
Do you dislike Dubinsky, or is it just this year that he's frustrated you?
I've grown to dislike him. In fact I've grown to hate him. Slowly building up previous years to peaking at his ineptitude this year (especially after signing a major contract).
I'm sick and tired of watching him try to do everything himself and turn the puck over.
I'm sick and tired of watching him try to receive only of fumble it.
More importantly I'm sick of his skillset (or lack thereof) for the money he's making. He'd be great if he was making Boyle money.
A few conclusions we can draw from this game and season:
We have had a very good year this year, and have overachieved.
We are low on talent versus at least 3 other teams in our conference.
Our depth is not good.
Without Henrik.....no chance of winning even 1 playoff round.
Bryan Boyle hets far too much ice time and is seriously limited.
Brandon Dubinsky has lost his game, and has sucked balls all season.
Johnny Malkin Mitchell belongs in Hartford.
Stu Bickel belongs in Hartford.
The real Marc Staal will not be back until at least next season.
Ruslan Fedotenko is washed up.
Our most likely outcome is out in round one or round 2.
We need more of the prospects to grow and come through to compete for the cup.
made an attempt? You mean swinging his stick like it was purse instead of actually covering Dupuis? The puck hit the crossbar and Bickel was trying to bat it out of the air, bad bounce.
McDonagh was directly responsible for 2 goals... he has been overplayed by Torts and needs a serious reduction in icetime.
You couldn't be more wrong. Watch the second goal on tape, McD is getting cross checked and the puck is there for Boyle and he makes a half ass attempt and Neal takes the puck and then the goal. And the last goal was clearly a terrible rebound by an average goalie. A wrist shot from the point should not be redirected onto an opposing forward's stick. Go away Jan.
Are you sure Niskanen did not hit the puck with his stick first? Hey, I'm not sure either, just asking. There is no doubt that Gaborik fell because of Niskanen, it's just the detail about the touching the puck before touching Gaborik that I would like to see confirmed.

We just do not have the depth to have even one key player miss games.
I guess you forgot the beginning of the season when half the defense was out? Sure Girardi, McD, and MDZ were playing insane at the time, but that seems like it's starting to take its toll now.
One thing I will say, what the **** is up with Dubinsky this season?
Times like these I wonder why I wasn't more gungho for the Nash trade. Could've used his offense tonight.
Even without Crosby and Letang, I don't think the score would've been much different tonight. Maybe they beat us 4-2 instead of 5-2. Richie made some nice passes but no one could finish them.
