Tame Impala - New Album Leaked

This band deserves more love. Great psychedelic rock coming from Australia.

Last album came out in 2010, but they are expected to release something fresh and new later this year and I can't wait.

Here's some of their best work.....they also put out great videos to go with their music,

Does anyone have any suggestions for similar bands that I might enjoy, if I really like this stuff? They are probably my favorite band worldwide right now.

EDIT:

New album Lonerism has leaked now and I am going to give it my first listen tonight. A pair of songs have also been previously released off the album.

Portugal. The Man
Smith Westerns

I'll think of more but that's it for now and a good start.

Well I'm not sure about that, I dont really like most of the more well known Perth bands like Birds of Tokyo, John Butler Trio, and Pendulum (if they count). But despite the cities remoteness they have a great music scene.

They arent at all like Tame Impala but San Cisco (from Freo) have been getting lots of buzz lately.

I wish there were more bands out there like Tame Impala, but in the meantime here's one from Sydney that sound a lot like the Black Keys

Wasn't crazy about the Smith Westerns. Had heard them before but they just don't do it for me. Portugal. The Man are pretty good though. Interesting stuff.

Good stuff 40oz. Love both of those songs. Especially the first one. The second one is great too because I love old Black Keys stuff. There best work.

There seems to be something about Australian music that I like.

Have you guys ever listened to The Asteroids Galaxy Tour? They're a band I've been listening to a lot lately, even though there new album is very hit or miss. They're from Denmark.

Tame Impala side project called Pond just releases an album a couple weeks ago. I really didn't care for it, but someone else here might like it.

Saw that yesterday and came to post it just now.

So excited, even though that little minute long clip of the song doesn't blow me away.

My brother listens to these guys a lot. I always heard the music but didn't find out who they were until I saw that video of them performing in a record store, or music store, it looked like. One of the few bands he listens to constantly that I can actually dig.

Just happened to hear the new single Apocalypse Dreams on an Aussie radio station this afternoon. Really like it. Definitely hasn't steered too far from their past sound, judging by one song lol.

New album Lonerism is due out in a few weeks, but it's already leaked. Three songs from it are also already out. They are all solid and it sounds like these guys are about to come out with one of the most unique and groundbreaking albums the genre has seen in decades, based on early reviews.

First single is Elephant:

First song to actually come out was Apocalypse Dreams a few weeks ago:

3rd song to come out is called Why Won't They Talk To Me:

Haven't listened to it yet, but if it's as similar to Innerspeaker as people make it seem, I'll pass.

Considering they didn't use any synth on Innerspeaker and have brought it on full-time for this album, I would assume they will sound very different.

The first single Elephant reflects a louder, more in your face sound, too.
