From the Herald:

Rookie forward Max Sauve, in his first NHL game Sunday, suffered a more severe hip injury and was sent home yesterday.

Bummer for Max. If he's out for the season, what's his contract ststus for next year? Isn't he an RFA?

Poor guy has been hammered with injuries.

He is RFA in 2013-14 (Cap Geek).

Thanks, AR. I was so looking forward to seeing this kid play as he was finally healthy. He missed several opportunities to move up because of past injuries.

Guess he's snake bitten. Hopefully next year he gets his shot.

Maybe Sauve is just 'brittle'.
If you aspire to be a pro athlete, have the bloodline, spent a lifetime in that pursuit, and have all the tools to be an excellent pro athlete - and your body endlessly breaks down . . . I can't imagine the frustration.

Example: Greg Oden. Celtics fans remember this name well. And that of Kevin Durant . . .

Sad story thus far.

I think the problem is the injuries are falling all at once and there are three significant injuries to roster players this season (Savard would be the 4th but I don't really count him since it is pretty much a known fact that he is done and won't return).

Just seems like another goes down as soon as one comes back.

Good news is it looks like Pouliot and McQuaid are coming back tonight, and Bergeron is game time. Hopefully if they can make it through this last stretch without anymore injuries they can pull it together.

Julien confirmed that Peverley skated yesterday (Wednesday), per Bish and Naoko. Baby steps!

Didn't realize we had a sticky for injuries until the thread about Pevs got locked.

OT, but does anyone else think there are way too many stickied threads here? There's so many, and some of them are hardly posted in or are just old. They take up so much space at the top that I usually just scroll right past them, so they lose their effectiveness. Just something I noticed...

Anyway, back on topic. I heard Pevs may have skated but nothing major. Hope he's back soon. Also saw that Horton still hasn't skated. Anyone hear if he's been getting his heart rate up at all?

all you need to do is add the one's you won't be posting in to your ignore list. It'll cut down on some of the extra stuff. I do it all the time.

On a side note I hate not really hearing any updates on guys like Pevs and Rask

Agreed. I also much preferred it when I could go to the individual thread of the player I was wondering about to find out details of said player.

Too much consolidation isn't always a good thing!

With that said, has anyone seen something concrete related to Marchand being injured? Being hockey, nearly everyone is/should be hurting at least a little by this point. I somewhat recall some posters saying he might have an undisclosed injury?

Dom, if you of all people on this board think they will both be back that is very encouraging indeed

If Horty doesn't hit any setbacks I don't see why not, my major concern is him getting hit bad again due to not being in games forawhile and maybe not having his legs, and the long term repercussions from, and finally whether or not he'll even be a impact if he plays tentative

Peverely I'm not worried about, get healthy and lock up a spot and well see what happens

Thanks for this. I'm just glad to hear something new on these guys. Pevs skating is a real positive. Anyone know how much longer he's projected to be out?

Absolutely correct Dom.

Positive signs. May give the boys the boost they need

For some reason I was under the impression that Horton wasn't even working out on the bike yet, so this is encouraging. Maybe it was just because we haven't heard much about his status recently.

As always, thanks!

just watched Peverley for an hour on the ice with Houda. Impressed. Watching him do drills and stick handle, shoot makes me realize how good these guys are. Unless there is a set back he should be playing at a pretty high level by the playoffs he looked that good.

I agree with SpeedyLazaro in the locked thread about Seguin, definitely has some contrapation on his left hand, but he was standing behind glass yapping with Peverley and goofing off with puck and stick. Certainly doesn't appear anything to worry about after watching that shoot out goal.

bottom line, beat the Leafs, get Peverley back, hopefully Horton and this team is pretty good. (heard positives about Tuukka as well)
