Tickets prices raised for 2012-2013 season

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/hocke...a4bcf6878.html

Quote:
The cost of Blues’ tickets will be on the rise for the 2012-13 season, an announcement the club will make later today.
The Blues will introduce a 9.8-percent “blended” increase in 2012-13, meaning some sections will increase more, some less, and the price in three sections will remain flat
This had to expected from nearly everyone. The Blues ticket prices are dirt cheap compared to the rest of the league. Plus, they aren't going up that much anyway. They are going to need to keep increasing ticket prices to be able to keep their core and/or a big FA/trade.

Thoughts?

They should've increased more, significantly more, but hey that's the accountant in my talking. They should at least put their prices with Chicago, Detroit, and Nashville, meaning at least $50 average at a minimum.

They're winning new fans, but you have to set the hook before you haul them in.

Jump the prices in the lower bowl and suites, and leave most of the rest with small to no increase would be my recommendation. Corporations will pay for tickets even if the prices go up significantly because the Blues are a hot product right now, and that's where corporations want to send their clients. Let the fans see some post-season success and a good season next year to show it wasn't a fluke before thinking about hiking the rest significantly.

I think as the defending Cup champions, they'll be able to defend a healthy increase in ticket prices.

Not sure if I am going to buy 10 pack club seats again... ran me 1550 last two seasons... if it goes to over 1700 now.. i think i will pass and stay home.

Or you could just buy a cheaper seat. There's really no "bad seats" when it comes to Blues hockey. No real reason to ditch the team because they NEED to increase ticket prices.

I think if we make a nice run (hopefully with a Stanley Cup parade down Market St!) and success similar to this year, the season after we will start to see bigger raises in ticket prices.

Here's a #stlblues season-ticket tidbit: A Mezzanine End seat will cost $19 next season. In 1995, the same seat cost $25.
Man are we spoiled or what!
