OMG why does the SE leader get a playoff spot. They are in 3rd place but are 9th in points. They live off the loser point This is a disgrace. Caps will win the division WPG will also pass the panthers

Look at their negative goal differential. they play in the southLeast. They will be a pushover in the first round. They don't deserve home ice.

My point is that the Southeast has been weak all year. The panthers, though not a terrible team certainly arent lighting the world on fire. Please, tell me where all this respect should be coming from.
Great year, way better than expected, but come on, it seems a lot of panthers fans are upset that they arent cup favorites right now.

This thread title to change: 7th place, the place to be in the East? Boston is falling. Florida is 2 BIG points behind them. Ottawa is 1 point behind Boston. Boston might not even make it with their struggles. Florida is going to be a tough out for any team, and could possibly win a series at this stretch of the season. Don't underestimate the team in Sunrise. They'll come up and shock you leaving you shaking your head that your team is out and they are moving on.

The SE isn't any worse than the NE. And people here change their arguments against the Panthers all the time. Whatever the Panthers do, the haters always find new terrible opinions on how we aren't good enough. Pathetic..

Hey All... Look at the Standings now... 6th place or 7th place, if there's an Atlantic Division team occupying either of those spots, what's the difference.
And if you look in the West, the situation is pretty much the same regarding the whichever team finishes in the 6th spot.

So has every other team it happens players get injured. What makes you sure that since your team has been injured all year that when Flo starts playing in the playoffs your team will some how be healthy?
That's the whole point. Florida's made it this far without icing a healthy team at all this year. Not an injury here or there; at. all.
Whether we get healthy or not for playoffs is yet to be seen. We've managed to come this far limping along. *shrug*
NJ beats Florida 5-2 its florida breaking down, NJ blowing a 3-0 lead from the 2nd period on is being outplayed. NJ Out shot Florida in the 3-1(1 of goals was a empty net) loss but Florida outplayed them.
your doing exactly what your accusing everyone else of doing.
did you even watch that 4-3 game? Panthers were dominating the Devils and all of a sudden the devils scored 3 quick goals, then it went straight back to the panthers dominating play.

first period was pretty equal the 2nd period and 3rd was all florida but im saying when NJ won 5-2 or 5-1 wtv it was, the other guy said Florida broke down, but when NJ plays bad he says its because Florida outplayed them.
I watch pretty much all of NJ games and there are nights where you wonder If the team forgot that theres a game that night, its maybe like that for all teams. But to say florida dominated everygame accept the one they lost 5-2 because the team didnt show up, when really every game has been close games, hell NJ outshot florida for most of the games some people will say NJ outplayed Florida just could not score.

Inside so our the Devils, because come playoffs its a new game meaning stats or records mean nothing, you need a deep roster to win rounds. Trust me ive seen 1st in the division Nj teams go into the playoffs and lose first round because we didnt have the depth.
Florida could be a playoff team but they do not have Forward depth, defence is young and dont really have the goalies to steal them a round or 2.
Im not saying this to knock on the Panthers they have a bright future but not this year.
You can say there have been upsets, MTL 2 years ago, EDM going to the finals etc but Florida does not have a Pronger or a Halak.

Im going to stop right there because NJ has 1 of the better forward depth in the league and if you think Flo has better Forwards theres no point to go on and i wont even get into coaching

Better forward depth, better defense and a 10 times better coach yet NJ has more points in a tougher division with average goaltending. Hell, Zajac will probably start the series in a 4th line role. How Florida has better offensive depth is puzzling to me.
The coaching can't really be argued IMO, due to the fact that DeBoer wasn't exactly amazingly successful in Florida. It's just a matter of where it fits.
