If I remember correctly, Iginla has 8 goals and 6 assists in the past 8 games. Sven has 3 goals in the past 4 games. Glencross with 7? Goals in the past 9 games. Stajan (believe it or not!) with 3 goals and 3 assists in the past 5 games. All these guys are on fire! Corey sarich has been playing great defense too! Sven is the real deal, he is leading the WHL with 2 points per game before being called up, he's aggressive for his size and fast! He's got a goal scoring mentality and often can carry the puck into the offensive zone without dumping and chasing. He loves driving to the net too! If this keeps up, then you guys are gonna see a strong flames team tonight!
If there is one game I want the Oilers to win for the rest of the season... this is it.
Cmon oilers!
exactly. please beat the flames and help screw their playoff chances.
and while you're at it, get sutton to drill sven into the boards.
pretty please.
Oilers, if you win this game I won't say anything negative about Hemsky for the rest of the year.

Couldn't agree more.
Having said that I am not expecting much push back from the Oil tonight. They need to play big and nasty and thats not really the makeup of this team.
They also seem to have an issue matching the intensity of teams with something to play for.
I will be very surprised if the Oil win this game.
Really want the Oilers to take this one tonight. If I recall correctly, the Flames lost 4 straight games after the Oilers thumped them in Calgary the last game. If the same thing were to happen again, that would probably end the Flames season. Gonna be an interesting game.. I'm sure Flames will be fired up after the last humiliation but it will be their second game on back to back nights.. so not sure what to expect.
Being St Patty's and all it would make sense for O'Mark to shine today. He is about the same size as a leprechaun as well.
Yes, and I'm pretty sure his home town of Övertorneå is located at the end of the rainbow.
Or is it the Arctic Circle? I forget.
Either way, that's where he keeps his pot of rubles.
Important question: are the Oilers and Flames EVER going to be decent teams at the same time ever again?! I can think of 05-06 as the last time they both made the playoffs. Before that, it's probably '97..? Not even sure if Calgary did that year. And before that, it must be '92. Twice, MAYBE, in 20 years?! Yikes.
Can't we both just be good, fun teams to watch, at the same damn time?! ...with Edmonton obviously being the better and more fun team, of course.
Hope we kill it. Gagner needs to do something. Smyth needs to not be old and slow and bad at puck handling. Oh and horcoff has been looking good for a while now, although neither him nor smyth know how to take a pass.
Hoping for a win tonight. Calgary did win last night, but got outshot pretty bad. I wouldn't say they are playing great, but getting some good bounces, and of course, great goaltending. One cheap shot by a Flames player on any of our players and Kipper needs to get ran.
If Dubnyk can have one night, just one night where he doesn't throw away the game by allowing 2-3 bad goals, this is it. I'm not holding my breath though.
I think I might hate Jay Feaster more than the Flames themselves (maybe), which is why I hope we can pull out a W and put them in tough to make the playoffs. The media blitz that Feaster would face in light of his playoff guarantee and anti-rebuild arrogance would be priceless.

Calgary only go outshot hard in the third period of last night because they were trying to hold a 3-1 goal advantage and they did, scoring short handed for a 4-1 victory. They played surprisingly good last night. Really strong in the neutral zone, so I wouldn't call their win due to lucky bounces.
Also, I doubt you will see any of our players try to injury yours, so I wouldn't worry about it.
