Agreed, but how can EA not release a simple patch that would fix the goalie from coming off the post? Lazy? Lack of funds? Either way, it's ugly. Like you say, the only way to really defend it is using a human D man. Computer Dmen are way to incompetent to recognize the same play over and over
EA released a patch alright; it just screwed things up way more. In the initial version of the game, goalies would stay pretty tight to the post, but you were seeing all kinds of far side shots go in from really weird angles. So EA released a patch that made goalies "cheat" a little more off the post - the problem is that they did a crap job with the programming and now you have a goalie that stays in no man's land half the time, allowing both short and far side shots to go in from all angles.

Well said, I remember that as well. Also they seem to have brought back the simple back hand/forehand deke... but at least it's more realistic, and doesn't go in maybe every 7/10 shots like the new deke does.

1.) Do you play with injuries on or off? I tried playing with them on and players were dropping like flies.
2.) How much should I scout and does it even make a difference?
3.) Is there any system that works the best for simming? (e.g. Behind the net, puck side side attack?)
1.)Play with on.. At first there will be alot of injuries you have to update your medical staff. You go into GM tracker (believe thats what its called.) In there you can upadte medical staff, assist coach, scouts, 1 more thing I believe. After getting the highest medical staff guys wont get injured as much.
2.) Not sure how much it helps but I do 5 weeks at a time. I rotate from WHL, OHL, QMJHL. Like I said before the more you update your scouts the better it works.
3.) Not sure at all I dont really mess with this
Also Since your simming the games but a player on 2 lines. Ex. Player X with be rightwing on 1st line and 2nd line. The will get alot for goals and assist. I usually only do it for 2 players in the forward group. It also works for Dman too

Nashville pretty crazy in beagm, had a stretch where I simmed and was 20-1, two ten game win streaks separated by one loss. Only trade made was to aquire Weiss.
This is BS. Ever since I went up to Superstar, the AI never commits penalties. What slider should I adjust?
I've tried everything, from and even with the AI penalties, the penalties and the AI agressivity maxed out... they still barely get any penalty, although I will notice some blatant interference or "weak" (where my player loses his balance after getting the opponent's stick in their skate) tripping not called. I'm playing 7 minutes.

It's ridiculous. You either need to scoop down to their level or lose. I haven't been in a game where a team scored a legit goal.
I want them to fix the ****ing goalies EQUIPMENT. I've lost so many game because there are parts of the pads and of the glove where the puck will literally pass through.

Yeah, GM expectations are weird this year. It seems like it doesn't change even if I change the rosters and make edits. And also, his expectations WON'T go down even if your team has a down year. I had the Habs, he asked for 41 wins and to make the playoffs, I finished 28th while simming, and the year after, he asked for 43 wins and conference semi-finals. That's why I play with GM firing off. Also, I had a franchise where he asked for 42 wins, I had 44, but got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs (6th seed) and he said that he thought my team would perform better in the playoffs because of the disappointing season it just had... and he never asked for the CSF or anything.
Okay this is just SO messed up. In my 6th season of BAGM. First season things started off pretty realistic with 38 wins and no expectation of the playoffs. I miss the playoffs my first two seasons. Than I really get things going and overhaul the roster. I win the cup two of the next 3 seasons and make the finals 3 straight years. Now going into this season, the owner says he wants get this............38 wins and and semi final appearance.
It's basically been this every season. How do I win two cups and become a regular contender and still only expected to get 38 wins and the semi finals?
Why am I not getting 45+ win expectations with SC finals as the goal?
Makes no sense at all. What exactly do you have to do to get higher expectations from the owner? Is this some sort of bug?
