I wonder if the meeting between Radulov and KHL officials was initiated by Radu's agent in an attempt to circumvent the buyout. There was a comment by Medvedev last week that gave me pause. Loosely paraphrased, he said that he hoped the situation with Radulov didn't adversely affect playing KHL games in NY. Medvedev probably knew this was going to be a major hurdle for Rad's return to Nashville this season.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I can't see Radulov paying 2/3 of his salary to buyout the contract. Could be anywhere from 1.5-2.5 million.
We can use the extra 3M-5M to sign Suter's replacement.
More like we can use the money to sign one, or both, of the Kostitsyns. If Suter leaves then we have whatever money he would have made to use towards improving the blueline

No, there really is nothing different. Do you have a link to an article in a newspaper made by rad?
I never saw one. Just nattering and posturing about what he wants from bloggers and other agents.
He never publicly , and personally, said to the media that he was planning to come to Nashville, ever.
If some people actually think he/they are doing all of this without planning to come here for any period of time then I have no comeback because I don't know what to say. Why in the world would this be going on without planning to return to the NHL?

I'm just saying rad never said anything....... Personally.
I can't read his mind. Who knows.
How can you assume there is anything logical going on ?
If he can't come over before you get upset remember the Preds don't NEED Radulov. He is a luxury at this point. In the long run it could work out for the best if he's forced to play a whole year on his ELC salary.
Sounds like he said "if it's going to happen it'll be by the weekend" (8:30 mark) EDIT: What ^^he^^ said. The interesting thing, (the Rads talk starts around the 7 min mark) is that Poile doesn't think there's any hurdles and it's all up to Rads. He also doesn't think "all we're reading" is true.

Well Poile has a vested interest in getting Radulov here ASAP, so of course he's going to say the hurdles are limited. Especially if all Radulov has to do is buy-out his contract.
I'm inclined to believe what Chesnokov is saying. It is up to Radulov, but he wants to do it the honorable way for once, which sucks for nashville.
Polie sound positive.
So the problem is just that Rads want's to stay cool with KHL.
He can come and play right now, he is allowed and has nothing stopping him other then his desire to stay in good relation with Russian side.
Then ****ing come and play and let your agents take care of that **** there.
NHL never recognized his contract with Ufa, so it does not interfere with current agreement between NHL and KHL.
And apparently KHL never cared about his contract with NHL, so it is two irrelevant subject that does not interfere with each other.
Season is over there, say goodbye and come on vacation to Nashville and play some recreational hockey for Predators already....
Polie also said that if he is not coming over now, the gates of NHL might close for him forever. I guess he ment that in new CBA Rads can become a person non grant.
