I would prefer MacLean winning it even though Hitchcock is my current prediction of who wins it.

Would prefer a more offensive coach winning the trophy instead of someone who values the trap more. Would encourage more coaches to adopt a trap to win games instead of flourishing the offensive side of the game.

I'd have no problem with either Hitch or Mac winning. Hitch for allowing the Blues to play to their potential and Mac for taking a team no one thought would do anything to the playoffs.

I agree with the consensus that it's between Maclean and Hitchcock. However, I think Torts should get some consideration as well.

I think (in order)

Hitch
MacLean
Torts
Babcock
Dineen (falling now a bit)
Galutzan
Tippet
Bylsma

cant really see any other coaches even in the discussion.

Not saying either should win, but they should get consideration.
Babcock is a great coach and should win it at some point, but this year is definitely not his.

Like I said before, Boudreau's team isn't in the playoffs. Hitchcock "turned a team around", Boudreau just woke his up. Many new coaches have done that before (see Lemaire last year).

Lemaire got some votes last year. His name definitely got kicked around, as should Boudreau.

My point isn't that Babcock or Boudreau should win the Jack Adams. My point is the ring is very crowded with all the guys' who've deservedly put their hats in there, one way or another.

A few weeks ago, I would've said Maclean deserved it but now Hitchcock has put his name in the mix. Many things can change by season's end but right now, they both deserve to be part of the conversation.

I think Hitch will bring it home, but MacLean will certainly be a finalist.

Hitch all the way cuz

Blues were not a playoff team last year finishing 10th or 11th in the west, no real game breakers to boot but a punch of solid players you can compete with.

Bad start 2 months into the season and comes in as a new coach. If they did not make that coaching change they would most likely be a middling team right now instead of closer to 1st overall.

ONLY guy that should beat him out would be Bruce B. if Ana did not run out of steam and level off to .500 hockey recently after coming all the way back from worst in the league mid season to with in 4 pts.

After our recent history, I'll be thrilled that a Sens coach is even nominated.

There's no way Maclean wins it unless Hitchcock falls off the deep end with his team, and that just isn't going to happen.

That being said, I couldn't be happier as a Sens fan. We've had a string of bad coaches and to see players actually take the new coach's system and adapt to it is a nice change. I really like what he's done with the team and he's got a great personality.

its hitch's to lose but maclean has to be a finalist.
he's done great work all year long and depending on things go with the bruins from now to the end of the season his team could finish the season with a division banner

Well I don't know about that, I think if Blues fans were told they would be fighting for the President's Trophy, they'd think the world was ending. Are they overachieving? Not necessarily, but Hitch has taken the team to a new level

Wanted to start my own thread, but this one is less than 48 hours old.

If Ottawa takes the division lead (2 pts back), how could MacLean not win? It just wouldn't be right considering the lottery expectations the team was supposed to fulfill.

Thoughts?
