Its kinda funny how the habs went through a barrage of injuries this year, but there wasn't much in the way of concussions, which has been an epidemic around the league.... well, we got 3 of them right now.

Dave stubbs cleared up the Markov thing. Says that they had to say Markov was 'hurt' so that they could play St-Denis without burning a call up. Technically cheating.

Would it even matter at this point, with 10 games left?

Are you asking if I have any moral qualms against them doing it? Well, no.

I'm sure anyone who checked that stuff over at the NHL head office saw ' Out for tonight's game with injury: Andrei Markov' didn't even think twice.

Yes, I'm sure they didn't have any doubts believing that.

But I'm just trying to understand the reason behind doing it.

They probably didn't want Markov playing 3 games in 4 days after missing 16 months...ease him back in and get St.Denis a game in the process.

I know there can't be anything going on, but a lot of the injuries lately seem very suspect. How do you go from helping your wife to give birth to being out 2 weeks with an upper body injury? Then there's Gomez and Gionta. How long does it take to heal from a bicep tear? I'm all for the tank, but it's been a strange year injury wise. Very suspicious.

If that rat Gauthier wasn't so suspicious we'd be in the playoff race dammit.

Oh, and what's with calling everyone mister anyway?

Gionta was a full out bicep tear and immediate surgery. They said he was done for the season the day it happened, and they still had a chance at playoffs at that point.

Gomez is a concussion, and as we know these are very unpredictable.

Kaberle seems fishy, i agree, i really don't know what happened there, but the first two do not. Perhaps Kaberle had been playing hurt for some time though.

Also if the team wanted to get "fake injuries" for tanking purposes, wouldn't it make more sense if it was Price, Cole, Pacioretty, Subban, etc...

If he's practicing with a Bourque jersey (no contact) seems like he'll be good to go.

all of a sudden the team has to cheat to not burn call ups. HELLOOOO that's what you get when you call up palushaj and send him back down twice daily.

You should ask Mister Gauthier about that one.... He is the only one to really know.

It makes him even more bizarre and eerie...

We're not the only team to do this, in fairness. San Jose iirc did it way worse than us earlier this year.

Geoff Molson wants to save every penny he can. No playoffs = no payoffs.
