Haven't seen any details, but probably 600-700K range I would imagine.
Thanks I didn't know that

Glad we got Melchiori signed. He's been a beast for the Rangers this year.

Good call by Paradise, we'll see how he does in St. John's next year. Some decisions will need to be made there, there's still Cody Sol and maybe Will O'Neill that could be added to the blueline there, and they already have plenty of bodies. Interesting.
Thanks Holden. I know he's a late bloomer, but I really think we found ourselves a quality player. I know there's been some comparisons with Cody Sol (who I also am intrigued by), but Melchiori is such a smooth skater for a player his size. In comparison Sol brings the thump like none of our other prospects, but needs some major work on his skating. Let's hope both excel next year in St.John's. BTW I think the Jets will also sign Sol. I think Will O'Neill has also developed quiet nicely and has a real chance to be signed. If we have too many d-men in St.John's then we either trade 1 or send 1 down to the ECHL, like we did Chiarot.

Don't need to.

He's already signed an ELC for 578,333 per.

Melchiori is pretty interesting as he was pegged as a possible offensive defenseman when he was drafted, but in Kitchener he was looked at for defensive responsibility, which he brought. Now on the generals he's being looked on to bring some offense and is getting some good PP time and has so far been using it effectively. I'm hoping they each can crack the SJ's lineup next year.

AUB: Interesting that Scheifele and Telegin (and Behena - not a Jets prospect) all got scratched in the Colts game tonight. Basically, if I read the standings correctly, Barrie can't finish anywhere but 3rd no matter what they do. Good idea to rest up.

I wonder if Colin Behenna would be worth inviting to training camp next season.

He's a bit undersized, but last year he had 88 points and this year he has 74 (second on the team behind Pearson). Plus he's the captain, so he must have leadership qualities Hawerchuk likes.

Hmm interesting. Here are his stats:

Nothing earth shattering, but Chevy and Zinger must have seen something they liked about him.

Scott Zurevinski in his first pro game gets into a fight Somehow managed to amass 64PIM's in 39gp in college (where there is no fighting) this season, potential agitator/fighter for St. John's?

We'll really get to see Scheifele and Telegin on display this spring if the Colts are going to make any noise. The Captain and second leading scorer, Colin Behenna, was already suspended for the first couple playoff games and tonight top scorer Tanner Pearson went down and did not return. He didn't come out for his star selection and left the BMC on crutches. Let's hope the future Jets bring it - they'll certainly have the opportunity!

Pretty bad effort by most of the team. Clark played hard as usual. Pasquale, made many saves, game should have been 6-1. Postma was a turn over machine. The dinged up players were missed.

Highlight of the night was during the intermission, when a fan put a puck through a tiny slot in a board across the net from centre ice. He won 10 k

Just realized that Barrie Colts team only have 3 players NOT from Ontario.

Telegin, a US born Dman, and a German backup goalie

Looking @ Sheif's stats, very impressive considering his GP, and I love the improvement in + -, I hope the kid turns out to be an NHLer

Both Scheifele and Telegin figured into the 2012 OHL coaches' poll, released recently. In the Eastern Conference, Scheifele finished in the top three in voting for most dangerous in the goal area, best in faceoffs and best shootout shooter. Telegin was voted by the coaches as the conference's best skater, tied in the voting with Ottawa's Shane Prince.

Great to see Scheifele getting that kind of recognition. The areas he did well in don't surprise me, but there is A LOT of talent in the OHL and it's nice to see he's up there.

I thought that Scheifele was very weak in face-offs while trying out for the Jets last fall. I hope that this indicates that he has improved greatly in that area.
