Yeah, not seeing what the big deal is. Grabo looked game to me, and he gets props for going with a tough guy in Neil.

Wow after reading the title, it seemed like Neil jumped Ashton the mercilessly beat Grabo down. When I watched it, he pushed Ashton like **** you man. Then Grabo stepped in, and started pushing Neil. Neil being Neil thought it was invitation to go. If Grabo is going to punch Neil he better expect to go and he did so good on Grabo, showed a lot of heart. OP you need to calm down there, it really wasn't that big of a deal, Neil didn't even beat down Grabo it was more of a wrestling match and you could tell Neil wasn't going 100 percent.

i was pretty ****ing drunk when i first saw all this go down and i gotta say i just let my emotions get the better of me and got really pissed at neil for going w/ Grabo. when i rewatch the incident Grabo definitely threw the first punch. i am surprised at how well Grabo made out in this fight tho, you could even argue he won this fight w/ the best punch until neil took him down and started throwing from the bottom

Aye, I was very much in a similar situation. Glanced up at the TV in the bar and saw Neil and somebody with a number in the 80's. Only reaction at that point was "oh sweet Jesus no".

This is being so over blown. I mean sure id be pissed if neil actually did something. Neil isnt malicious. He slightly pushed Ashton, grabo gave him a solid cross check. Why throw a cross check at a guy already P-O'd? Neil threw a few punches to grabos helmet as they flipped and flopped around. I mean when the refs got in their i swear i could see grabo filling in neil while on his back. Pretty hilarious actually.

Firstly, Grabovski went after Neil.

Secondly, I think Neil has the right to act like a tough guy....

Just sayin...

No big deal here. Grabovski brought that upon himself, and did pretty well in the fight.

As far as "picking on a rookie"--what's being a rookie has to do with anything? Some rookies are tougher than seasoned veterans--I find that Carter being a rookie just serves as ammo to those that are Neil-hatin'. No one ever mentions Rinaldo, Kassian,or Bickel being rookies when it's go-time.

He has a right to act like a tough guy in a fight where he landed no punches and waited for Chara to lose his balance?

There are much better examples of Neil being a tough guy.

Anyways, good on Grabo for sticking up for the rookie. He isn't a fighter, and to take on someone like Neil really says something about his character.

Not sure if you're a Sens fan or not.

The only people that need a Chris Neil are tobacco chewers. What is his big concern with Grabovski's jersey being tied down or not? I guess he received a couple of fists.

I'm not huge fan of Neils. But you run my goalie in the crappy mens league I play in and your gunna get fed. If it happened the other way around and rookie Karlsson runs Reimer two times, Luke Schenn would have went after him too. Neil was protecting his goalie from earlier. Just sucks Grabs was only one to drop gloves with him. What should have happened is Phaneuf should have dropped gloves fast instead of talking, and forced Neil to fight. that's what true Captain does for his squad. Neil did his job a much as I hate that type of hockey, he took out the best player with him on the ice.
Good for Neil, and A+ for Grabs

LOL and Failino did not win that fight you trolls, Schenn slipped and Failino tried taking cheap shots and only landed one solid punch while Schenn like landed like a straight 6-7 standing up. Ahhhh you Ottawa fans are a joke. By the way this is how brave Neil is with a legit tough guy

So apparently, "the code" says it's okay to take runs at a goalie and not expect the other team to come after you as long as you're a rookie? Yeah, okay.

Why? Are rookies exempt from being touched? Ashton ran Bishop earlier, but I guess that is okay since he is a rookie.

Some posters really are idiots..

No mention of the fact that Neil was merely hugging Grabovski, and only dropped his gloves when Grabovski started throwing punches?

this thread is hilarious.

1) Ashton ran bishop twice.

2)neil gave ashton a shove for running his goalie.

3)grabo attacked neil.

4)title should be "neil shoves ahston for running goalie;grabovskie attacks neil" which is totally different then the actual title.

5)ashton is bigger then neil

6)Better go tell big rookies that running goalies is ok as long as your a rookie...that way you don't have to answer the bell.

{MOD EDIT}

Ashton didn't even run him! He was pished right into him! how are we the crazy fans. Neil obviously wanted a fight and Grabo came in instead. And just cause Neil isn't as big as Ashton doesn't mean he is the better fighter.

Do people really think that being a rookie comes into the other player's mind when stuff like this happens?
