Olli Jokinen's next season

He has a chance to get to 300 goals, 400 assists, 700 points and 1000 PIMs next year. He's currenty at 290 goals, 390 assists, 680 points and 961 PIMs. Some pretty nice milestones aside of the PIMs of course.

the PIM stat needs to be looked at in perspective though, sure 1000 is alot, but if he keeps up his penalty pace from this year he should reach 1000 PIM around mid season and is 1000 PIM in 1070 games that bad? its less than a penalty ever other game (and even lower when you consider he has had a handful of fights and maybe a couple misconducts (that add 10 minutes each)

I think he has a chance to reach 400 assists before the end of this year as he is seeing alot of ice time and has some good line mates who can finish for him.

He's going to sign somewhere else (hopefully). Not Detroit either.

Would be nice if he signs here and you just stick to the Detroit board.

Habs fan coming in peace

I actually live in DT Calgary and go to quite a few games, so I've certainly adopted the Flames as my Western Conference team

Just wondering why people wouldn't want to re-sign him this off season?

From the games I've seen live he's played well, and you can definitely argue he's been one of the more consistent Flames all season

On top of that, what other top line centers can Calgary grab this off season, and at a reasonable price? The free agent pool is pretty thin, and I don't know who on the current roster can take his spot

I'd love to see him playing at the Dome again next year

The majority that want to not resign Jokinen (which are a minority of the fan base) either want him gone because he is older and want to give Backlund the ice time (I don't like this idea) or they are still bitter about what we gave up for him and how poorly he was the first time here.

its one Red Wings fan that posts on our board that doesn't want the Flames to re-sign him. Other than that most are on board if the price is right.

Oh that was well said I am all for him returning if the price is right as long as plenty of ice time is still given to the rookies

That would be a pretty solid top 6. Moss has done pretty well with Joki and Glenny, but I'd like to see Cammy there. Or, they'll go back to putting Cammy taking the draw for Tangs and Iggy. Solid chemistry there. Needless to say, there's going to be a lot of experimentation.

It's easier to relate to Calgary since I live here plus it's not like I'm not a flames fan, just not a Jokienen one.

But seriously though my estimate is 3.75m 5yr contract or higher if it's fewer years.

It's a declining top 6, and one that makes us a marginal playoff team.
