Why bother even playing the season? Just disband the team and forfeit the whole year.

Yup. Secede and hold a dispersal draft in the hope of another expansion, this time in the NL West.

Don't need to run an expansion draft. Just give everyone to the Yankees. That's what'll end up happening anyway.

Altered the title to make sure everyone knows there's a game tomorrow.

I toyed with the idea of a GDT thread, but I think we'll save those for the regular season.

I put very little stock in ST, as the Leafs have taught me well (not that it's the same situation but still) yet I'll tune in tomorrow. Baseball is utterly gorgeous in HD, imo, the best looking sport in HD, especially day games

You mean a dispersal draft, right?

Also, for the future expansion Toronto club, it really benefit us because the Yankees and Red Sox and Phils can't protect all their -- oh wait, the MLB will put a loophole in for the Yankees, you just know they will.

Gose is friggin explosive player.
He had at least 3 highlight plays in the game (Catch in first off McCann, triple of bloop and his diving catch off of Bourn). If he can even top out at a .260 ish hitter with decent on base skills hes going to be a problem.

d'Arnaud struggled at the plate like hes done all summer. I dont put much stock into that however because catchers have much more to learn and focus on in spring training then regular position players.

Hutchison looked a little timid and wasnt challenging hitters enough but his strikeout of Chipper Jones was very nice. With some maturity he should turn into a pretty solid pitcher, prolly something like a harder throwing Marcum type.

Deck on the other hand has no problem coming after hitters although his velocity isnt as good as Hutchisons. He seemed to have really good break on his pitchs but couldnt fool Uggla the second time around. Sure hes going to give up some HR's here and there but he should be a good workhorse type who gives you alot of innings and is pretty consistant.

McDade hit the ball hard twice. You can certainly see the type of power he has when he connects on a ball.

AJ Jimenez threw a laser beam to get one of the Braves attempting to steal 2nd

Snider struggled and the K's are still a pretty big issue.

I really like this Jonathan Diaz. He looks to be really solid in the field and has some decent contact skills.

Anyways not much of a game since it was basically there starting team vs our 2nd string team. Brandon Beachy is a BEAST and should be a pretty good #2/3 going forward. Gose was the best player on the field for the Jays and Im certainly excited to see him play again.

This year's Tomo Ohko or Dana Eveland.

Difference is this turkey won't be polluting our bullpen when season starts.

Damn, why no d'Arnaud instead of this Gomes character??? I'm gonna enjoy seeing OV in the lineup, I know he's essentially as useless with the bat as J Mac but he's been a favorite of mine for a while for his defence.

Hopefully we see some of Gose, d'Arnaud, Marisnick etc from the 5th inning on.

Gomes is an interesting guy actually. If a different system - one with less depth in catchers - he might get some press. He can hit a bit, play some first. He just lurks in the weeds a bit. Played in the AFL.

We'll get a look at him today, hopefully he shows something. I'm still unsure of Mathis. I know he's great defensively, which is important, but historically his bat is quite poor.

I forgot in ST they typically take out players halfway through, so yeah, hopefully we'll see some of the young guys come in weems

Here's probably one of the most polarizing reasons I really hate Buck. A no-hitter is one of the most exciting things that can happen on the field and Buck just goes "meh". Oh my

Let us "non-cable" guys know how he looks, please? He and JDiaz are interesting guys who look on the fringe of utility roles within the next year or so.
