Via Joy Lindsay.

Additionally has full clean bill of health apparently. Good thing he gets assigned to the AHL, excited to see how it turns out

Didn't realize he was old enough to play in the AHL, is he? Will he be reporting there for next season too? I thought players had to be 20 yrs old to play in the AHL? This is interesting news.

Just checked & Puempel is a 93 birthday so he is not elligble for next season. Then why is he able to go this yr, simply because of conditioning? That's weird & wacky stuff right there.

No this would be just for the remainder of the season, he cannot play down there full-time next year

Decent skill set, can bury the puck in the back of the net. He will have to play in Bingo for a few years, has missed much of last two seasons because of injury plague.

Isn't that a little wierd that they can go & play down in Bingo for the remainder of the season but can't play in the AHL on a full time basis until they are 20 yrs old. I remember that Daugavins did this too.

Why would the minimum age for the AHL be higher then for the NHL

Sens Mile:

Thank you + is hard for some these players to make jump to a higher level at time of year.

A good test for him + it will show him what the AHL is like.....

CHL-NHL agreement. CHL won't prevent someone from the big show but if they are developing then they need to be in CHL

Thats only for CHL drafted guys IE: we would of been able to put Max Maacormick in the AHL this year due to not being owned by the CHL.

Nice! To be honest, I'm happier to hear he has a clean bill of health more than I am to hear he's going to Bingo.

How many games do the B-Sens have left this year? Hopefully Binghamton is getting Puemped to have this kid for a few games.

Puempel can use this little stretch to see what the pro game is all about, see what he'll need to do next year in the OHL. It should be a good experience for him to see some pro hockey before playing another year of Junior.

Health is key for this guy. Hopefully he can take after Andre Petersson and get his life/career back on track. I really hope he gets to play with Da Costa for a few games. That'd be a fun combo.

Yep.. Obviously didn't play a whole lot, but he was definitely leading the team when he was playing. I think he looked better last year, then he did this year. He was a better shooter this year for sure though. I think that if he was fully healthy all year, this would have been his best season yet.

What to expect from him:

Look for him to shoot first and get in the dirty areas. He is one of the better forwards on the Petes who is good at both ends of the ice. I think of him as Foligno type player, but wont fight as often and will score twice as much.

I'm really excited to see him in Bingo.

EDIT: Just though I should say that this gut is not NHL ready, so don't expect him to be on the big team next year.

That's awesome, I've never heard of this situation before. People have been really down on Puempel, but I still like him a lot. People were down on Noesen before he broke out, and I believe Pumps would have too. I mean he was putting up over a ppg on a terrible team.

I hope he gets to play with Da Costa or Locke because he's a pure goal scorer

The OHL is incredibly high scoring. Even though I think +/- is an overrated stat, but it is the most important stat to look at here.

GL to Matt! Should be good to see him in Bingo even if it's just for a short time.

Agree, this will be great experience for him. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but not really expecting too much from him yet.

Peumple got suspended for an illegal hit, and got checked on the head himself bad and got a concussion leading to a 10 game suspension for the guy that hit him.

Otherwise ppg player before that.

OHL season is over and the Petes are out so maybe that's why he's allowed to play in the AHL.
