Ah statistics. If it happens once, it'll always happen

It's not worth risking an injury to Vary throwing him into the shootout cold, with both his injury past and how important the run-in will be.

It looked by the way the players tried their hardest to end the game in OT that they knew what was going to happen in the shootout.

Damn Jiggy is a good blocker, but man his lateral movement sucks.
It was a hard outcome on him considering how well he played in the 65 minutes.

The only way I could see them putting him in is if they told him to go stretch in the locker room during the OT and then skate along the side while the ice is being cleaned.

Simply "no".

I don't like the idea of putting a cold goalie in net for just the shootout.

Especially when it's an athletic goalie with groin injury problems in the past like Varlamov.

given the circumstances, giggy is the reason colorado got the extra point and the shootout. leave him in. if the avs miss the playoffs by a point i will look back at the vancouver game that we should have won in regulation but, galiardi could not hit the open net and bieska made 2 exellent plays to win the game for the canucks. that was a game the canucks had no business of winning.

How many times has a team done that? Seems like a bit of a slap in the face.

if you watched the difference between the last 10 minutes of the 3rd(where they hung on for dear life) and in OT where they pushed the play the whole way, you knew that they knew that Jiggy knew if it went to OT it was over

If it comes down to one game needing 2 points than Varly is starting the game anyway. So, this point because moot. I personally believe you go with the horse that got you there. JS didn't give up a single goal in 65 minutes and you want to put in a cold guy with a history of groin problems? You're asking for trouble.
this. If game 82 is win and your in, varly starts anyway.

the risk is too much. Too bad really because Giggy was amazing and got us the 1 point. Its not like we scored in the shootout to help him anyways.

Why is changing the goalie such an outlandish idea? Why not look at it as a relief pitcher coming in as a closer in the 9th?

Relief pitchers warm up forever. They also aren't anywhere near the athletes of goaltenders. Big 300 pound sacks of ****.

I'll admit when I said they should have pulled Giggy I was just pissed the Avs lost and was looking for someone to blame.

Leaving in Giguere was the right choice, especially after his shutout
