Very good point. id prefer that too.
Also wonder if i jinxed vrbata talking about it being his 100th team goal. i avoided mentioning it before he reached the goal in case he went cold or got injured
9th place feels like ****. Let's kill the Oilers tonight and not drop out of a playoff spot again this season.
But 9th place actually feels like 10th, since that is the position we're in. But we will be back in 7th and ready to take over the division lead on Tuesday after we win this evening.
not sure I like the title of the thread. Yes, Yandle has Jovo disease but he's also been overplayed. To blame a non-playoff finish on him is a great disservice. He's still a very good player despite the brain farts.

I'm not fond of negativity born of ignorance either.

I think they were all clever and funny. If we're gonna tank this and screw up a sure thing, then we might as well enjoy it!
Right?! It's just a game, and not every team makes the playoffs, such is life. The season ends at some point, and you move on to the next year. I guess the uncertainty of whether or not our team will be here next season could be a reason why people want the playoffs so bad. Trust me, I want the playoffs, it's the most exciting postseason out of any sport, but it is what it is.

That's exactly it. If I knew there would be an ownership resolution, I'd be fine with losing every game the rest of the season. But think that april 3 may be the last game, ever....no!!!!!
Don't want to look too far down the road, but, Chicago is only 4 points behind Nashville and Detroit. If we take the division, one of those 3 will be in 6th place. Detroit has had a rough March. If they don't get it together soon they could be the 6 seed.
This could probably handle it's own thread, but statistically speaking it looks like we would play Chicago if the Coyotes won their division, and St. Louis or Vancouver if they do not win the division. Obviously we would all prefer to do as well as possible, but it is going to be a close finish for the division title. Out of those 3 teams who do you think the Coyotes match up the best against?
Here is how the Coyotes have faired against those teams so far:
St. Louis: 0-2 with 2 games to play down the stretch. Outscored 3 to 7.
Vancouver: 2-2 in the series, but outscored 8 to 12 in those 4 games.
Chicago: 3-1 in the series and outscored the Blackhawks 13-9.
I'm guessing the obvious choice is the Blackhawks, especially given their goaltending (highest GAA of all playoff teams) and potential injuries (how long is Toews out?).
If we beat the teams out of the playoffs (min, clb, ana)
Then 5 points in the other six games (not counting st.louis) gets us to 94 points.
If we can get four or five points in the next three games id start LOL against the blues. Its the second game in back to back games against a team that it wouldnt hurt us if they gained points. Plus a little rest for Smith would be good before the last five games
