NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

I thought we played good defensively. We had opportunities. We had 42 shots on net. You have to tip your hat to the goalie, he played well.
- Brian Boyle

We had the puck most of the night. For the most part we stuck to our game plan and did what we wanted to do.
We just weren’t able to put it in the back of the net and break through.
- Brandon Dubinsky

I’m encouraged. We were stiffer. I thought we made some really good defensive plays and our chances were really good chances so we can’t get discouraged.
- John Tortorella

****ing win this game. I can't handle another loss, and I sure as hell can't handle another loss to the Devils.

Man, I just realized how spoiled I've been this season by saying I can't handle another loss...good thing it's not 1998

16-2 final. Rewrite the history books by lumping all of the blowout wins into one frustration-built slaughter.

Martin Brodeur gets pulled after giving up 3 goals on 3 shots.
Johan Hedberg gets pulled after giving up 4 goals on 8 shots.
Martin Broduer gets pulled (a second time) after giving up 6 goals on 12 shots.

Gaborik with the "Ovechtrick," passing Malkin for 2nd on the year with 43. Richards with a 10-point night, getting him near that PPG pace everyone expected. Hagelin one-ups him with an 11-pointer, propelling him solidly into the Calder lead.

Screw the Devils. Just win, baby.

A loss tonight and the Pens are 1 point back with a game in hand, the Flyers 3, the Devils 6 (Rangers would have a game in hand)...all 4 teams with point totals higher than the Bruins.

Win and clinch. I want the East though

Absolutely huge game tonight.

IMO it's pretty simple, lose tonight and I don't think the Rangers finish in first. If they win tonight I still have some hopes.

BTW, if this stretch continues too much longer those "this is a bad team" avatars won't be so ironic.

Could Zuccarello's big hypnotizing eyeballs at eye level work to annoy Brodeur, now that Avery is gone? If he adds a whisper it could be efficient. Maybe in French.

2 very easy points.

The negative ******** stops TONIGHT.

Not you guys per say..but some of our fans in general. One guy I'm "friends" with on facebook in particular has basically written the team off, after saying all year we're the best team in the East, we're gonna win it all, Henrik's the best goalie in the league and blah, blah, blah..Well, starting before the game against the Pens on Thursday night, he starts posting crap like, "8-1 Pens tonight." and "Bye bye first place, here comes another embarassing 1st round exit." and then telling me "Henke's lost his balls" and then his status after the Colorado game, "Devils, please put us out of our misery come Monday."

That was the one that pissed me off the most. I basically said to him, "Turn in your membership card as a Rangers fan".

Freaking ridiculous.

"Oh I've been dealing with this crap for 20 years, they always disappoint me!"

Cry me a river dude. We have ALL been putting up with this for almost 20 years. Bottom line is this team has given me the most thrills I have had SINCE 1994. And yeah, we may blow the division and the conference..but at the end of the day, both mean nothing. Do I want them? Yes. Will I be pissed if we blow them. Absolutely. But to jump ship and say this team is garbage after all the crap you've been spewing all year about how awesome they are..you call yourself a Rangers fan? Please!

SCREW HIM, and SCREW his negative garbage.

See this?

A win tonight and we make it right and take take our first step towards THIS. Have we had a crappy run of late? Yes. But I still believe in this team. And anyone who doesn't, you might well just jump ship now, cause we DON'T need you!

So stop with the negativity and let's clinch our spot tonight boys!! LET'S GO RANGERS!!
