U18 New Zealand "Haka Dance" before game

What you think of this? (Do they do this stuff in all sports?)

The Haka started with the All Blacks rugby team and has since been taken up by at least a few of the other sports. I know that the Tall Blacks (basketball) and the All Whites (soccer) do it as well.

All Whites actually don't do one, but the Tall Blacks do.

It's a Pacific Islander tradition; other rugby teams do something similar (but it's not called a haka): Fiji has does a cibi, Samoa does Manu Siva Tau, and Tonga does a kailao.

It's part of their culture to perform the Haka before sporting events/games.

I realize that I played rugby for a number of years.

If you think that wouldn't gently remind Canadian hockey players to play a more physical game I would love to play against you. That's very cultural in Flin Flon, Prince Rupert, Kirkland Lake and Shawinigan too.

Your first comment made it sound like you think Canadian teams would want to brawl right there for them doing that. Of course it would pump up the opponent to play tougher as well.
