You know what's real funny, people, including our own fans, complaisn Montreal isn't tough enough to compete with Boston, that they're jut going to beat them up. Meanwhile, they buy into Burke's spiel about truculence, but when it comes time to play against Boston, Toronto has their tale between their legs.

Guess the Randy Carlyle game plan of having his team play tough and try to beat the Bruins at their own game in their own rink wasnt a good idea.

Leafs fwds are small and fast, why try to play into Bostons hands?

Don't need to be tough enough to compete with Boston in fistacuffs. You just need to make sure a soft team like Buffalo, or Vancouver doesn't beat you up.

What should Burke address this off-season ?

They need goaltenders, defenseman, top tier forwards, truculent forwards. They ****in' need everything.

They remind me of those kids starting up new teams on NHL 12.

" Recruiting for great new Elite EASHL squad. We only need Goalies, defensemen and wingers!"

Only 1st rounder not to play in NHL
Several 1st rounders from the last 6 or 7 years of Serge Savard's tenure didn't make it to the NHL.....Bilodeau, Lindsay Vallis didn't play, Eric Charron had a cup of tea but was a complete bust....some very bad drafting.

No impact players in the system either. Colborne and Kadri may become 2nd line players.

I hope they keep Burke. He's such an idiot.

Though, at least they have a potential franchise player in Seguin. A potential number 1-2 dman in Hamilton. A top 6 winger in Knight.

What a game. I think the Leafs are passed frustration.

With that said, I'd still like Schenn as a number 5-6 guy.

It's not even about the fights though, no one in the NHL can compete with them in their depths of fighters. Toronto consistently loses to Boston, barely showing up most of the time. Kessel does next to nothing against them.

The only team that didn't make the playoffs since the lockout and shouldn't make them anytime soon unless they make a lot of changes. I don't know if i can hate them anymore, they remind me of that fat kid everyone beats on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kessels asks for a trade this summer

Leafs better hope that Kessel and Lupul can stay healthy going forward, that's all they have going for them.

This is all stat-talk (I haven't watched an AHL game since the Jets returned...)

Their system is rather barren but I think there's an outside chance Kadri becomes a 1st-line forward. His AHL shot totals aren't that far off of Pacioretty's at the same age.

Colborne's numbers aren't impressive at all to me - mediocre AHL shot rates and probably riding the percentages to his high totals this year. Maybe he ends up top-6 but a 3rd-line offensive type is what I think I'd expect out of him.

You don't try to beat Boston up. I think the Rangers might be close, but that's it. You just want a couple of fighters throughout the lineup just incase something happens in the heat of the moment. You don't make a game plan around trying to muscle the Bruins, or any team.

I could see Kadri with Ribeiro upside, but I doubt he reaches that if he stays in Toronto. Also he's not really the type of C you want when your best player is as soft as Kessel.

That would be true if that fat kid went around telling everyone he was going to lose weight over the summer and become the sexiest kid in school, then after he loses a couple of pounds and gains some confidence, starts bullying other fatter kids, only to become fat again.

I always saw a bit of Esposito in Kadri early on in his career. Seeing him with toronto I got a bit scared, he showed some real talent, but I think he's actually regressed since his first call-up. If I were him or his agent, I'd ask to get the **** out of there ASAP.

I sympathized with the Leafs after last year but it took them one month to prematurely run their mouth at us. I can't forget that garbage article from Leafs nation that compared the Habs to the Islanders and Miami Dolphins. After that I'm enjoying their fall back to reality - I can't even call it a collapse, since that team was never that good.
