You honestly think Edmonton's defence is equal to Calgary's?

It's not even close.

mod edit

Your 'D' is every bit as bad as ours.
You have a superstar goalie, yet your team has only allowed 14 (1 less for every 5 games,) less goals than us. You give up more shots, and since we all see Kipper making big saves, they aren't all perimeter shots, but quality scoring chances.Your defense is horrible, just like ours. Schultz is better than anyone on your blue line.

Giordano and Bouwmeester are pretty close to Whitney/Smid.

So you're telling me that the Flames offence is the reason why they are competing for a playoff spot?

Or Kipper? But what happened when Kipper played poor last season with a .905SV%? Dumb luck?

Bouwmeester, while overpaid, is better than every Oiler defenceman. Giordano is obviously better than all of them. You must be joking if you think Edmonton has even a comparable defence.

It is all Kipper. Your D is just as bad as ours. Bouwmeester isn't very good.

Without Kiprusoff your team is every bit as bad as Columbus or Edmonton.

Sorry, no way the Flames get in. Too many better teams in front of them and all are playing well. Sorry

You are so biased it's ridiculous. There's no way a rational person would look at both defences and say that they are even comparable.

Please just stop. You're making Oilers fans look stupid.

Ripping on the Flames is easy enough by simply presenting facts. This is just trolling.

I may be rooting for the Flames because I would love to see another Van-Calg series, always fun. I don't feel it would be a relatively close series, but a chippy one.

thanks, it turned out very well! I hope you enjoyed your rice and chicken

You can call it whatever you want but some people here need to stop acting like they know more about the prospects of Calgary than actual Calgary fans.
If it was easy to do a rebuild on the fly exactly like Philadelphia, then everybody would be doing it. Fact of the matter is that you already have to have a bunch of key pieces to rebuild the way Philly did. They already had numerous big game players in their prime at the time, and they already had tons and tons of potential, young stars on their roster to start with. Comparing the Flames situation right now to the Flyers' situation a few years back is a terrible, terrible comparison.

Very high skilled prospects? Once again, let's hear some names. Obviously there's Baertschi, but I'd love to hear more of these "very high skilled" prospects.

Exactly. Making the team younger by adding a bunch of mediocre-at-best young talents doesn't mean your GM is making your team better for the future.

About what exactly. That your potential star player waiting in the wings has played a grand total of 5 NHL games. He can be considered top end talent if he pans out, if as I stated Calgary gets lucky and pulls a rabbit out of their hat and a late pick blossoms into a star.

Lots of draft picks do well in the minors and get lots pf hype, lets see how he is playing a full season in the big leagues before you start anointing him as a star.
