I really like Erixon btw. I am anticipating he will be very good by next year. He is an excellent passer and has great vision.

Hags has alot to learn about playing D, let's just say that..

More times than not I hold my breath when he's on D - usualy he's way out of position..

It feels really good not to have to wait until the very end of the season to know if the team's gonna get into the playoffs or not.

This is a great point. He is great at throwing the puck at the cage, and even pretty good at actually getting it through.

Everyone played fantastically but Dubinsky I thought had a super game. He was throwing the body all night, scored a goal and got a PP assist. The penalty on him was BS definitely. I thought Erixon looked good and I can't wait for him to fill out and get more experience.

Lundqvist has not been the same for weeks now. Almost everything is a rebound.

I'm not knocking him as he is the face of our franchise, but it is very, very obvious that his play has dropped, and it is not just the defense that has facilitated it.

Bickel is a good 7th d-man. Honestly, I wouldn't mind giving him a spot on the 4th line as a forward if we need an enforcer. Guy can drop hammers.

This game should be great for our confidence. **** on all game by the refs, manage to get the win, and pound some Debbies into the ice? That should bring back our swagger.

This first place scenario is going to come down to the last week. We have Boston Philadelphia Pittsburgh and Washington, I'd have to imagine those games will decide a lot and not just for us.

Oh they were definitely softies tonight. I wanted to see the team bail him out and they did so I'm happy. But the comparisons to Biron were a bit much for me.

Also, was it just me or was NBC's audio screwed up? Sounded like I was listening through a transistor radio.

it feels great doesn't it! despite our recent struggles we're the first team in the east to clinch a spot and that a pretty good accomplishment.

Regardless of all the talk concerning winning the division, etc. more importantly imo, i think this team should focus on stay healthy and just keeping pace within themselves.

going to war in the playoffs healthy should be our # 1 priority.
that and somehow getting krieder into this lineup for the post season.

congrats on a playoff birth!!!!!

It was the same for me too. It was better during the second period... but the first and the third were pretty bad. On the Youtube video of the fights from the main boards the audio was clear. Idk it was weird.

Rangers had a very good game, especially from their forwards. Brodeur let in a weak one, but he made some incredible stops as well. Could have been a lot worse score-wise.

He's been fighting the puck ever since that game in Boston.

The Rangers did a good job this game in circling the wagons (hey! correct usage!!!). He's bailed them out plenty. They bailed him out tonight.

Staal looked horrid for most of the game. He was getting beat constantly in the corners. His skating was not good. I think pairing him with Bickel is not a good idea. You can't pair two poor skating Dmen together. I know Staal's skating is not this bad when he is on his game, but its just hasn't looked good this season.

Del Zotto needs to start learning to shoot the puck. That pass on the PP was awful. He has a wide open shooting lane. If he shoots that puck low, that puck probably rebounds where he wanted to pass the puck to in the first place. If he wants to be an effective QB on the PP, he has to learn to make better decisions. I thought he was solid defensively though.

Gabs was horrible, the worst player on the ice for the Rangers. He made Hags look a lot worse than he was actually playing(I thought he was good aside from some defensive blunders). He needs to get his crap together.

I LOVE BEATING THE DEVILS!!
I agree with all of this. To add, Brodeur was out of position when MDZ passed that. He could have scored with a SOG.

Too much gain, not enough volume was peaking out whatever board the sound was being run through.

Aside from the audio, the broadcast was just horrendous overall. Between Emrick screwing up player's names all night to showing the wrong replay on a goal review... it just wasn't good.

I feel like Lundqvist needs to get on a roll, and that hasn't been possible with the team playing pretty poorly as well. If they get back on track I think Lundqvist will get back into his groove
