Also... I know that a lot of people like fighting... and generally, in the flow of the game, I don't have a problem with it. Fighting just happens to be my least favorite part of the game. When I'm all amped up for the start of a Rangers-Devils game... a fight at the opening faceoff kinda takes me out of it a little bit. Ah well. It's really a minor thing.

Incorrect. The lineups were posted before the start. TG even posted them online before the drop of the puck.

I agree, except in a case like this.

Two teams despise each other, and it sets the tone for the rest of the period. I thought it was good stuff. Especially when it's guys like Prust, Rupp and Bickel who can also play hockey.

It'd be different if it was two useless goons like Scott and Janssen.

The same tone could've been set with a couple of big hits in the opening minute. And actually, whichever game had the dual fight at the beginning... I think it sucked the life out of the Rangers game at the start. Really, the tone of the period would've been what it was without the fighting.

Agree to disagree. The Rangers were dominant in that first, after Bickel painted the ice with Carter's blood. In the second we weren't as good.

Notice that the last game we played, the Devils didn't start the three goons. Scott was in the lineup that night. Watch what Scott did to Janssen last year and you'll know why. Torts moving Bickel up to Center was great. Devils thought Dubi would take the faceoff and have to fight Carter again.
The Rangers played with great intensity all night Hey McGuire, you said a hundred times that the Devils were turning the puck over. You never once said that maybe the rangers intensity might have something to do with it. Let's Go Rangers

Not really. Pierre pimps the Rangers up if anything, and Doc is a great announcer, seems very unbiased.

Yeah they were fine tonight. I have to say, NBC Sports has upped the quality of the broadcast since they've changed the name from Versus. I don't mind watching games on NBCSP anymore and to be honest, I actually enjoy it since they have the crowd and players mic'd up great. Only thing I don't like is the 7:30 starts which is just a pet peeve of mine. I always liked the 7 starts better.

Thanks and it was. Definitely had some good highlights for both sides and a lot of memorable moments. Really enjoyed the series between these two teams this year, every game (with the exception of 1 or 2) was close and had a great intensity to it.

I despise Doc. I just can't stand him. Smart guy, good guy, I just hate him as acommentator.

Pierre is usually good though.

Same to you folks. It is a great rivalry still. Hope we meet in the playoffs or, if not, we collectively make sure that neither the Flyers or Penguins make it out of the conference.

Yea, but I wouldn't leave any of our players alone in a room with him.

I don't think he's the best but he's definitely in the top tier. Some of his catchphrases get annoying but he's a good play by play guy.

For all the **** Pierre gets too, he knows his stuff. He's just gotta cut down on the creepiness

Carter wasnt supposed to fight at all. He had a major gash and a bunch of stitches on his face from a 4-minute major high-sticking penalty he got in the kisser 2 games ago. That's why there was all the blood even though Carter won the fight (as the announcers both said), as the entire wound was opened.

That's why Salvador got the 10 minute major, for trying to jump in and take Bickel so that Carter woulndt have to fight.

I agree. The grating audio tonight on the announcers' mics was kind of annoying though, but hearing the crowd/sounds of the ice is great.
