Just like the Sabres looked when they had a lot of injuries, the Lightning looked bad.

Except for when we played Washington with all of those players out.

They're sinking fast, and a top-5 pick looks probable. Just what they need: more high-end talent. I fully expect them to draft Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, or Murray in June. Watch Stevie Y swing a deal for Schneider or Bernier, as well. Then they'll be back in the conference finals next season.

G: Ennis - dominating right now.... impressive
Stafford - out of his funk
Foligno - Zak who?
Hodgson - looked on his game tonight
Tropp - really like how the kid played tonight
Sulzer - solid
Poms - makes the steal and puts the game away
MIller - steady....hard to keep focus when your team is up by 5
Ruff drew up some plays and the team actually showed interest! Good sign!

B: really can't find much to complain about
Regehr - looked slow on few plays
LRP line - lost coverage, skated into the forecheck more than once - would really like to see them get going

U: Wings losing to the Caps
Toronto

G: Pucks went into the net like curaaaazy!
B: Sloppy defense on the TB goals, TB's defense on Pominville's 3rd period goal 17(ish) seconds into the period.
U: Toronto, like other people said. Good lord.

That was a ******* awesome win. Foligno, Ennis and Stafford continued to chip in and Pommers, Vanek, and Hodgson all had multi point games as well. Hopefully it's a huge confidence boost for the team going forward.

G:
-Ennis, Foligno, and Staff. Playing like a line possessed. We haven't had a line play this good for an extended stretch since HBP in 06-07.
-Hodgson was really good. That line looked dangerous. Tropp.
-Tropp showing off his mitts.
-Vanek and Pominville looked much better.
-Containing Stamkos.

B:
-Vanek's lazy play on TB's final goal; I may need to see a replay but that was pretty bad on his part.
-Roloson was shaky...feel bad for the guy.

U:
-WSH win.

It was. He turned around to skate out of the zone when the puck came to his man at the point.

Good work tonight against an injured team that knows it is done for this season. Still many positives to take from this game.

Now mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 27th. At Caps. That might be our season right there. Especially if we still trail them at that point, we simply must get 2 points in regulation in that game. That one is gonna be a killer nail biter!

We are only 2 points back, but assuming a reasonable amount of winning by the Caps here on out, we have maybe 2 losses to give away the rest of the year.

Don't forget, we end the season at Philly and at Boston. We may need to reserve our 2 losses for those 2 games alone! And that assumes we can find a way to take 2 points from the Rangers and the Penguins who we will also face.

It's still a massive challenge.

First things first. Montreal on Wednesday. Gotta keep winning and keep the heat up on Washington.

They win 2 of the next 3 going into the Washington game, and I'm very happy.

Agreed!

Of note, by the end of this week Winnipeg could be out of the race. They are already behind both Caps and Sabres, and tomorrow they are in Pittsburgh. Then the huge game Friday at Caps, followed nicely on Saturday at Nashville.

Their goose may be cooked shortly.

Time to start watching all CAPS games, and cheering for their opponents. And that may include Friday against the Jets. I think we may benefit from a Jets win in that game.

Just a grocery stick that no one here on the boards cared about. Had no potential or anything. Now, Marc-Andre Gragnani. That guy was a stud that the Sabres never should have traded away. What a mistake!

its hard to find something to really complain about after a win like that, but still:

ugly: it seems like the vets feed off the younger guys instead of vice versa. that's incredibly bothersome

Ugly: We score 7 goals and Roy gets 0 points and a -1. Only minus player on the team. How does that even happen?

U:I'm uneasy every time Roy is on the ice. His positioning is solid but his offensive ability is nonexist. It's like he's replaced Connolly as the enigmatic soft center/PK specialist.
