Ribiero a "Top Skater"...

Thought this was funny when i found it on another page...

http://www.nhl.com/intheslot/read/fe...rs_111203.html

At the very bottom it says of Mike, "Montreal Canadiens center Mike Ribeiro can dazzle with his speed and stickwork combination."

Well, they got the stick-work correct, but Mike still has a ways to go to dazzle me with his speed. On the plus side, it is much improved this year.

LOL!

Shows how much the NHL's staff knows about hockey players!

Heh, it shows how much you know about hockey palyers. If you actually took the time to look at his skating you would realise that he is a very good skater.

I've played a lot of hockey and I,ve seen some people who taught themselves how to skate with better strides then Ribeiro. His knees are too close to each other to let him have better straight away speed. His crosses are much better though. If he continues training hard like he has, he'll be good.

Yeah right... Mike "kept away from the NHL for being slower than Perreault" Ribeiro is one heck of a fast skater...

Go there and suggest his name just for fun... (fast skaters polls)

Like he said, Ribeiro's speed is now "okay", but to put him on a page that talks about fastest skaters is just silly. If you want to see speed, watch Scott Niedermayer or Alexandre Daigle... NOT Mike Ribeiro!

Ribs's skating has improved a lot from a few years ago, but he's still below average for the NHL.

The important thing to remember with Ribeiro is that he skates pretty well WITH THE PUCK. Hey, Adam Foote might be the fastest skater in the league but give him the puck and he turns into John Chabot.

There's a big difference between speed with and without the puck. The first requires talent, the second just wheels.

Ribeiro is one of the fastest according to NHL.com

All seven players remain among the fastest and cleverest skaters. So, who fills out the final three to make a Top Ten?
