This is looking like a season long problem that wont go away until the offseason. This pretty much ends any playoff hopes the Wings had.

Well Conklin, here's your chance, if he blows this he might as well retire imo.

Must suck for howard to not be able to play in MSG

and yet people want to blast me still for picking apart our team one x one...when a good player goes down, others should step up. No one is stepping up, the wings are tanking like I have never seen before. Getting down 0-2 0-3 early in games, lack of motivation, just stuff thats not the norm...Our bottom 6 is decent, our top 6 minus Datsyuk is missing, like i stated earlier...holland didnt do jack at deadline to help the team w plethora of cap-space..the only thing we as fans should be looking forward too is seeing if holland has something up his sleeve for Weber/Suter and or Parise...this is becoming an epic mess here in H-town..eff me this sucks

What did Howard do to himself to re-injure his groin, that is a better question

This doesn't look good at all. To be out with another groin injury so soon is just devastating. I can't imagine them rushing him back for the playoffs and risk more significant long term injury. I also can't help but think that he has played entirely too many games this season. Some goalies can do that, some cannot. That's not a knock on Howie at all, just the different way different people are built.

With MacDonald having an MRI on his back, and given his previous disc problems, a worst case scenario sees us going into the playoffs with Conks, with Pearce/McCollum as his backup. Conks has struggled this season, but he's also shown in the past that he can play very well. Any NHL caliber goalie can get "hot" at any time and carry a team.

I'm not giving up on this season.

I'm pretty sure it was the 3rd goal where he cracked his stick over top the net. Haven't seen him do that in a long time...

Joey MacDonald and Jimmy Howard are injured currently, which leaves them required to emergency recall a goalie from their AHL team, aka Ty Conklin. Another teams GM cant claim Conklin off re-entry waiver, as there is a process on emergency recalls due to injuries

They can only use that loophole by putting them on Injured reserve, which it appears they are not doing since it would mean that they have to stay out a minimum of 7 days.

Holland said Howard is day to day, nothing serious. Conklin on re-entry waivers. If he clears he'll join team in New York

Don't know if you remember McCollum's 15 minutes of fame against St. Louis last year. I cried that game. 1st Rounder down the drain. Not to mention we could have drafted Markstrom. Hindsight is a *****.

Not saying he's a bust...

but he is

I'm not really sure what can be said about the injury problems at this point.
