My hockey club is putting on their first tournament, but we need a catchy name for the tournament! Was wondering if you all had any clever ideas. Thanks!

There are so many great possibilities, even more if you dont mind offending the participants.

I would love to make a team called The Post 95ers to see if anyone else from the tourney is from HFBoards.

Maybe a little more info on where the tourney is and what it's for?

hahaha...i think your going to be fighting a uphill battle...the best part of all this is ALL are "team" names that make no sense when applied to a TOURNAMENT name...HAHAHAH, its sad that i cliked in here to litterally post along the same lines that everyone else has..

So beth. Is this thread all you expected and more?

I am noticing so many local references to "King's," in the area, you could use the idea of Queens instead.

Queens of the Castle (perfect if you were playing at Castle Ice Arena)
Queens of Kingsgate (if playing at Kingsgate)
Queens of the Hill

Ok then I had some other (half silly) ideas.
Washington Ice
Nothwest
Ice Cascades (play on ice capades)
Frozen Coast
Battle of Seattle
Battle of the Bay

I also think it is important to note that it is a woman's hockey tournament. It gives young women/girls strong role models.

As a woman, I think it's gross, actually. Most of the suggestions here might amuse certain segments of the male population, but they'd turn off the vast majority of women. Besides, it doesn't even make sense - it's a tournament, not a league.

My association's tournament name is boring, just references hockey and our town, like any normal hockey tournament. We forego the "clever" crude jokes about women.

I sincerely appologize if I have offended anyone. That was not my intention.

I guess I should have stated that I was not offended by different names for parts of my body but a little set back by the "kitchen" or "ho" post. Again, I really do appologize.

Typical cliches I've seen for tournament names include (fill in the blank) Summit Series, or names that include references to pop culture such as Miracle on Ice, Youngblood, even Polar Express.

Secondly, this has become easily the worst thread on this board. The responses make people sound like they were brought up as weirdo religious fanatics in some third world country.

That is all.

Now surely that wouldn't be offensive...

my women's team made shirts one season with a phrase on the back that might work for you, "Hockey With Hooters". if you can get Hooters wings to sponsor all the better.

There was a mostly women's team in the local beer league in Greensboro named "The Hookers" for a while. They still play in tournaments.

At least some segments of women enjoy them too, it would seem.

Sorry I didn't look at this thread (again) and clean it up.

Any more degrading jokes will be hit with infractions.
