Post Deadline NHL Statistics

Kings fans,

I am Statistician by trade and have an affinity for creating and looking at statistics and numbers. In the most recent Post Game thread someone inquired about the Post Trade Deadline Goals for and goals Against. It got me curious and I crunched the numbers.

These statistics include all games from February 27th and includes games of monday March 19th. I included in the statistics the "free" SO Winner goal as a goal scored. These have been done by hand, so the occassional typo may have distorted the stats (but hopefully not). Apologies for using the city name as a label for the teams. I also included the teams post trade deadline record for context.

Kings rank 3rd best in goals scored and 6th best in goals allowed per game.

Thanks for the work Inner T. I enjoy stats greatly. Hopefully those stats continue until the end of the season, as it will bode well for us making the playoffs.

Thanks for all the hard work. I must conclude that Dean has assembled a helluva team and that the Kings will win the Stanley Cup.

Good stuff, thanks. Basically the Kings have been one of the top teams in the league since the deadline.

Interesting that the Sharks are only averaging 1.82 goals scored per game (which is TERRIBLE), and giving up 2.45. That bodes well for us considering we play them 3 more times.

I was just wondering about the numbers since the Carter deal as well, then i saw this, good post dude. (4-0 win over chicago and 2-1 loss to Nashville on the day before) theyve scored 38 goals in 11 games with an 8-3-0 record. Is this a fluke??!! I personally dont think so. btw new to the forums. been one of those silent readers for yearssss... finally feal like chatting away with some fans outside of the circle of friends.

I like that Phoenix and San Jose are very low in the mix.

I really wish this was for the year. Only the top team in the league and a team that recently won 11 in a row in front of us is awesome!

The Peg is really coming on, I hope the Jets make the playoffs.

Anyone else notice that there isn't a team in the Southeast Division that is a "plus" in terms of GF/GA?

NYR, Boston, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh have really dominated the East this season.

Our remaining schedule + GD Ranking since deadline of our opponents:

San Jose (25th)
St. Louis (2nd)
Boston (18th)
Vancouver (27th)
Calgary (12th)
Edmonton (22nd)
Minnesota (30th)
Edmonton (22nd)
San Jose (25th)
San Jose (25th)

*We only have two games left against teams that are actually playing well right now (Calgary and St. Louis), everyone else is struggling and has a losing record in their last 10 games.

Are you suggesting 7-2-1 is a possibility?

Makes me wish we got the trade done sooner. Looking good, if we make the playoffs we have an opportunity to advance.

That is correct. dumb me. Didn't doublecheck.

The Bolts are 4-5-1. Maple Leafs 3-7-1.

Will edit earlier posts.

Well, looking at it that way it really builds up expectations. I hadn't looked at the remaining schedule in that way - but wow. Just WOW. It's going to be a bumby right, but it could be a really fun one until the playoffs.
