We're only 5 points ahead of Edmonton. It's very feasible that we can suck enough to finish 2nd to last in the league, locking up a top 3 pick.

It's sad because it is definitely very possible that this may happen. I figure the team will pull out a couple of wins out of nowhere and get back to our customary #5 overall pick. They do it every year.

I hate the Leafs just like the rest of you, and I'm not particularly concerned with draft position, so I'd be happy if this team could at least temporarily make me happy.

I can't think of anyone other then Martin on the current roster that would match up under that situation.
I'm sure Bettman loved the beginning of that game-- especially since it was a national broadcast last night.

But yeah, other than Martin, can't think of anyone. I would've said Hamonic if not for the facial injury

Old time hockey there, and really the whole game. very entertaining. We could not answer, would not answer. Okposo would be hiding in the locker room. Unless we had Trevor Gillies and Micheal Haley in the lineup, no one would be able to match up aside from MattyMarts.
There have been some real hard hitting playoff style hockey games lately.......something I can only hope to see some day again from our Wanglanders.
Flyers/Pens, Flyers/Devils, Ranjerks/Devils all very high intensity balls to the walls hockey, mean, nasty, physical, fast, intense.

Those games kind of exposes the Islanders biggest weaknesses. The Isles may make the playoffs in the near future, but will they be able to stand up to teams when the intesity and physical nature of the playoffs take over, or will they wilt?

Would love to Grab Prust and Carter in the offseason....

Martin-Carter-Prust is a legit bottom 9 checking line

It's too bad Shawn Thornton re-signed with Boston. I watch him a lot being in Boston and I love the guy. He would have been perfect for this team.

To get back on topic, I'm getting the feeling that JT is going to light up the Leafs like a pinball machine tonight. The morale in Toronto is pretty bad and they put up a major stinker yesterday against Boston. If the Isles capitalize on that, it could be another blowout.

Come on JT, put up a Gagner 8-pointer tonight and steal his thunder!

Yes, that is a 4th line. That is what the team needs.

combine that with a Ullstrom - Czikas - Petrov? 3rd line and now you have some jam in the bottom 9.

I said this in the wish list thread but if we are going to see Strome next year and its possible, i dont want to but its certainly an option, this team is going to need to get tougher and i think a 4th line of

Martin-Cizkas-Prust/Asham will not only contribute offensively and defensively with alot of energy thats one hard hitting and fighting 4th line and will protect the entire team

You never run out of good GDT ideas Law. Another funny one. As for the game I want the Isles to win like most other people. I always want them to win no matter what. Would be nice if they could finish above .500 but I have no expectations.

No, there are those of us that hate them more than most... If you live in the US, you aren't subjected to the Leafs 24-7 as Canada's one true glory. Trust me, that amps up the distain for them.

Wow. Great job from Okposo, and doesn't take a penalty.

After a nice first shift this has been a special type of bad hockey. Both teams.

Fair point. Nothing more for me to say about that one.

I wish we see more of them together. Bails has the hockey sense to mesh with JT.

Nice pass by Tavares on that Bailey goal. Good to see Okposo showing some life in both zones early
