Back to last night's loss, I have seen a tonne of Leafs games in my lifetime. Last night was easily one of the most embaressing performances I have seen from any Leafs team. Right in there with some downright awful Ballard teams, never thought it would ever be as bad as then, but there was last night.

I've never been more embarrassed to be a Leafs fan than last night. Not only was there no push back, I really felt like the Leafs were scared of the Bruins.

Didn't see the goalies laying any lumber on players when they were near the net. Didn't see players stepping up and really hitting the Bruins players. Honestly if I was losing that badly someone on the other team would be leaving the ice with an injury. We need a Trevor Gillies type to make the other team pay.

Remeber all those defenders saying it wasn't as bad as the 80's?

One has to ask why they would do that to such a financially sound profitable company?

After watching last nights game and total domination at the hands of the Bruins the OTPP are likely sitting home smiling that they got out when they did.. Let new ownership try and spend their way to success as it certainly didn't work for them.
because the profits/growth potential have plateaued. As an investor you know exactly why they sold.

at least in the 80s the boys played with passion, wendel would wreck someone with a body check or mash some poor soul's face in with his fist.

nowadays, not only do our players get beat up, they play scared pansies... NO PASSION whatsoever.

Only bright spot in this game was Komi and Schenn showing up and paying the price. where was the rest of the team?

It really is amazing how much of that goes on within big corporations.

Just look at Cliff Fletcher!

Agrred.

Call up Holzer and play him.

If he isn't injured he isn't fit to be captain.

Not sure if its been mentioned or not, but I dont understand for the life of me why you dont call up Orr for this game and sit Armstrong. Armstrong brings NOTHING anymore that you can't get from someone else and at least with Orr in the lineup, someone on the B's is going to get filled when it gets silly like it did.

Just bad player decisions IMO.

EDIT: Komi earned my respect last night.

There is no way i can see he is captain next year. There was a shot on the bench of the new coach(can't remebemr his name) going over a play that Dion had just **** up. It really looked like Dion was trying to give excuses. Now I know this is really reading into a 3 second snap shot but that combined with his bonehead/lazy plays does not make captain material at all. I wouldn't mind(actually like) seeing him traded for a first round pick - i think he has to go!

No more call ups and Orr has to clear waivers and can be had at half price by another team.

No more callups.

Rosehill, Ashton, Gardiner, Frattin. Enough people have to get injured such that we need another callup to ice a full lineup.

The Ballard years were awful, remember the year we had 3 1st rd picks? And we drafted 3 Belleville Bulls, our scout probably only scouted 1 team.

Ballard probably didn't want to pay for more than one scout.

Remember the team with 3 teenage starting defensemen? Or the one with 2 teenager goalies? Or the one with a fat 41 year old Carl Brewer on defense? Or Dan Maloney sending out defensemen who didn't even know which side of the ice they were playing? Or 3 teams making the playoffs with only 28, 25 and 21 wins respectively? The decade where the team never lost less than 40 games for 8 straight seasons?

That Ballard story where he asked his maintenance guy how many cucumbers he could fit in the 30,000 gallon tank that housed the mixture that circulated through the refrigeration pipes in the Gardens was awesome. Ballard wanted to use the cucumbers to make dill pickles and sell them at games.

In Atlanta, he got a head coach, who was considered to be the main ingredient (as an asst), to the past 3 Jack Adams winners. He also traded for key cogs Byfuglien and Ladd, drafted Kane. I would say a large amount of the key current Jets are because of him. He enevr had a chance to finish his job there. I think the 'Peg made a mistake

Actually it was Jacques Demers that built the foundation that led to the cup. Taking Lecavalier and Richards in the 1998 draft and adding St. Louis as a FA along with some role players was what got us there. Dudley did 2 years of nothing until the Davidson group got rid of him and put in Feaster. Feaster just got by until OK destroyed everything and now SY is rebuilding from the minors up.

Nazem Kadri has played 48 NHL games in the past 2 seasons. In those 48 games, the Leafs are: 25 - 19 - 4

In his last stint with is, the Leafs were 9 - 4 - 2 with him in the lineup. 2 games after he was sent down, we started our slide.

That stats speak for themself
