All aboard the Jason Garrison bandwagon. He's bringing so many things we need. Rock solid defense, a bomb of a shot for one of the PP units.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Garrison earlier, although I don't know how I omitted him. He's probably be at the top of my list of desirable defencemen.

Looks like there are a bunch of options for a Kuba replacement on the left side, but pretty slim pickings of noteworthy D on the right side this July.

Rozsival
Wideman
Kubina
Sarich

Maybe Gilroy is the best option?

MOST REALISTIC:
I'd go with Penner or Oduya. I think Oduya would be amazing, he could take Kuba money and be better

I'm afraid of the contract he'll get but Wideman would obviously be a great option for Ottawa. He can actually do the things that Gilroy wants to do and fits Maclean's system perfectly. I think he'd pot 50 points as a secondary puck mover in our system.... but he might command the most of any defenseman on July 1 not named Suter.

Out of the two, Parise. I'd prefer neither however, I get the feeling, either is gonna run us close to 8m per.
