It was a nice play by Voynov. He closed the gap quickly and broke up the play.

Voynov didn't have his best game, but he seems to be involved in the game and generally makes solid plays. And he's only 22, maybe too young to realize he shouldn't be that good.

He is definitely going to earn heavy praise after that. Given that Sutter has been talking about teaching Voynov how to use his stick better defensively and pokecheck.

Really liked what I saw from Nolan. I think he's just as good, if not better than King, he just hasn't gotten the same opportunity.

Greene and Stoll with zero penalties.

Greene had a great game and gets little mention.

Mitchell with a very solid game.

You know what I like about recent Penner?

He looks like he's enjoying playing and life itself. It's quite obvious personal stuff was getting in the way. Yeahyeah he gets paid millions, well he's human.

Great game looking forward to St louis.

Oh also quintessential Richards shorthander!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's more of a passer and King is more of a shooter. Giving Richards two shooters on his line makes it that much more effective.

Nolan reminds me of a less-skilled Frolov, he can lean on players and protect the puck.

you could tell by watching the flames/avs game that neither team wanted to win because they were too scared to lose.

We took that game.

OK, they've done it. They've gone and made me believe.

Not that anything is inevitable - and they've not made me believe anything farther than hoping for that 2nd-round appearance.... but this team has answered the doubts I had during the "what record is it going to take to make the playoffs" discussions -- they've finally started CONSISTENTLY scoring goals, and put together an actual winning streak.

On Penner's goal, I thought "that shot looked kinda lazy, but that's what made it work!" - it was amusing to me.

5-4 to make the playoffs (probably as the #7), 6-3 to win the Pacific.

Sutter opened up the offense. The murray effect is fading.

Balance has been brought to LA.

I'll be honest, I didn't think Sutter had it in him

I will give Sutter credit though, the Kings are a much better team with him in charge than with TM. Watching Jordan Nolan and Dwight King play it really makes you wonder what the hell TM was thinking coming out of training camp, how could anyone (besides you ofcourse) think Ethan Moreau or Trent Hunter deserved to be on this roster instead of a guy like Nolan or King.

TM was just absolutely clueless as a coach both with personnel and style of play.
Herby I'm not one of your haters or opponents but it would really take a Western Conference finals appearance to change your mind?

I mean, if the Kings played well in the playoffs and lost a great series in the second round wouldn't all signs point to a steady growth and evolution of this team?

I've heard the phrase many times: you have to lose to learn how to win. You don't feel like this team is coming together?

that wasnt just a win, that was pure dominance. Only a handful of shifts all game were the Kings on the backfoot

A little too much 4th line in the last 10 minutes. I get that they had a GREAT game but they still aren't good enough defensively to be facing a firewagon Sharks final 5 mins offence

I agree. You can even tell that he has a very underrated skill level. That kid in 2 years is gonna be a heckuva player. Gotta love the coaches kids.

Like when Alec Martinez was called up the first time? we shouldn't make a verdict based solely on that.

Just because King was over his head for a top line role last season (and even DL admitted this) doesn't mean you can't hope for him to get a shot later on, after gaining more experience, in a role more suited to him.
