At the rate they're going, Cammalleri's going to.

I think they are both awesome. But Cammi just seems to be a little more consistent than Frolov.

i think they are both equally streaky. but by virtue of playing the majority of his minutes on the top line with Demitra, i gotta say Frolov ends the season with more points.

Tough call because under Murray's "system", they play different roles. Frolov is back up with Demitra and Conroy (but who knows for how long?) on the top line. Frolov plays on the powerplay, but until recently, it was the 2nd PP unit (which usually had Norstrom & Dempsey at the point). Frolov does not play at all on 5 on 3 powerplays. Cammy on the other hand plays less minutes 5 on 5, but plays alot on the PP and plays the point on 5 on 3 situations. Cammy has 11 of his goals on the PP (compared to Frolov's 4). I'd say by the end of the year, Frolov is 25/40 for 65 pts and Cammy is 25/30 for 55 pts. Great numbers for both considering they are only 23 yrs old!!!!

I don't know if I agree with that.....

Frolov has....

1---8 game point scoring streak
1---5 game point scoring streak
2---3 game point scoring streaks

points in 33 of 57 games (57.9%)

Cammalleri has...

3---5 game point scoring streaks
1---4 game point scoring streak
3---3 game point scoring streaks

points in 35 of 58 games (60.3%)

Cammalleri does not have a huge advantage. But statistically he scores in a greater percentage of games than Frolov.

^ Great stats by the way spongy.

I went with Fro just because I felt like it!

If I was Fro I would be damned if I was going to let Cammy beat me though, I want to see more fire from the guy.

Cam seems hungry, while Frolov seems intent upon making the perfect play.

I thought this would make a good poll because who would have picked Camm at the begining of the season? Most people picked Fro to lead the team in goals, wonder if they still think that will happen? Camm has been the better of the two as of late and I expect that to continue the rest of the season.

The biggest downside to how well Cammi is playing to me is the huge raise he is going to be wanting in the offseason.

Funny thing about all the people ripping into Frolov (although at times it is justified). There are a few who want the 23 year old traded. I love these fans who want to see the Kings to play their youth, yet at the same time they want to see the Kings trade their youth as well (i.e. Cammalleri, and recently, Frolov). Thankfully management is not as irrational as most fans are.

Now, as far as Frolov and his disappointing season goes. Sure, he has been inconsistent, but which Kings player hasn't been this season? And he's already surpassed his point totals from last season in 20 less games played. He is also 5 goals shy of matching his career high of 24 goals.

Frolov has looked like a dangerous sniper when he elects to take a shot. Problem is, he is looking to pass more than he is looking to shoot. He should be the one pulling the trigger on the top line. But again, he is 23 and will only continue to improve.

Frolov with crack over 50 points and should surpass 60 points this season (something the Kings didn't have last season, a 60 point scorer!). Cammalleri should also hit 50+ points before the season is done.

It is nice to see a crop of Kings players like Frolov, Visnovsky, Cammalleri, Belanger, Brown, Gleason and Corvo developing into core, impact players for the Kings. Looks like patience does pay off, eh?

Well I will not speak for others. But in my defense there are about 15 other guys on this team that I would trade before Cammi or Frolov.

If they both stay on the same pace, it will be neck & neck.

I picked Frolov simply because he leads by 7pts. If they were even, I'd probably give Cammalleri the nod. They both depend on the top players playing their best (Frolov at even strength, where he usually plays with Demitra, Conroy and Visnovsky, and Cammalleri on the PP, where he usually plays with the same). Cammalleri has been tossed around a bit more than Frolov, which may account for the 7pt lead. I think that they'll do about the same down the stretch and Frolov's current lead will keep him ahead overall. Regardless, it's a great accomplishment for Mike to be neck-and-neck with a player like Frolov (in spite of the fact that Alex has been a little bit of a disappointment).

If Murray leaves him on the top line and the #1 PP unit then I think he will go on another goal scoring streak (he had 13 goals in the first 24 games so getting to 30 is not out of the question) and will battle Demitra, Conroy and Cammallari for the goal scoring lead. Now all AM and staff need to do is show Alex where the net is and DEMAND he shoot the puck. It's amazing how he usually gets on the scoresheet when he gets at least 4 shots on goal in a game!

Frolov is going to come back from the Olympics on fire. He'll end up with 35 goals(yes he'll score 16 in our final 22) and 44 assists for a total of 79 pts.

Frolov will NEVER score 35 goals. That would require him to make HUGE adjustments to his game that he never will do.

Alex has become the premiere perimeter player on the Kings, if not all the NHL.
Alex almost NEVER:

1. goes to the net.
2. takes ANY shots 15+ feet from the goal
3. goes to high traffic areas to pay ANY price to score goals
4. plays along the boards and behind the net way too much
5. has taken less than 20 snap or slap shots entire season

Most of his 19 goals are scored like this: there is huge pileup in the goal crease, involving 5 or more players. Alex comes out of his corner, or behind the net and gets a rebound and chips in a 5 foot goal.

The last few weeks, I have twice seen him skate towards the goal all alone, see a linemate with the puck ready to pass it to Alex for him to have a dream scoring chance, only to see Alex continue to skate past the goalie and go to another worthless area on the ice...wanting to apparently take the pass and make another play.

Alex has ZERO killer instinct to score goals. I'd take Cammalleri over him any day. Cammalleri works much harder and is a true NHL sniper.

I say Frolov scores more points, but Cammalleri scores more goals.

.
